Didn’t go inside the castle as it’s 8 Euros an adult and 4 for kids and 24 euros is a lot for a visit that’s predicted to take less than 2 hours.
There is free parking if you have a car up a gravel road called Via Fantini or you can park near the cemetery off the main road.
Good for a walk around the bottom of the battlements and you can get views of the lake by walking on that side of the castle . The Thyme growing on the embankments also smells amazing.
A good place to start off an explore of the town

We arrived just as it opened at 10am as a stop on our journey back to Venice and the airport. Helpful young girl at the ticket office offered to keep, our rucksacks with her whilst we looked around. Stunning views of the Lake and an interesting ornithological museum - most of the birds on display in excellent condition. A bit more info explaining the collection would have been interesting. Overall, Lovely place to visit (and you can get a discounted ticket if you visit the house as well).

Looking for a place to see with limited time available, I came across this one.
It turned up to be a nice pictorial place consisting of a cancel and a small museum. As we didn't have much time until closing, we chose to have a short your of the castle that is surrounded by a garden. The place is nice to see. It doesn't offer muh explanations though, and the guard we met spoke only Italian.
To summarize, it's not a must visit, but a nice and quiet place that is worth visiting if you are around.

Simple in its style, is offering a great location specially in summer time with some tables outside on the veranda and on the garden. The atmosphere it's really special. Great for families lunches or romantic dinner. The food it's reall really tasty. Looking forward to go back home to enjoy one dinner to them.

A short walk from the town Centre and you find a large walled fortress with stunning views over the surrounding countryside and Lake Garda. The ruins are well maintained and you can even see a slightly strange collection of stuffed birds into main keep.

A steady stroll in the sun and a picnic lunch and views over Lake Garda. A good example of what you can find a little off the main Drag

Visited Lonato del Garda in December and 1st day was very foggy but in the evening and next day the weather was much better so we went to visit Lonato castle. Grand historical monument.. it's a pity that we couldn't go inside the castle. Hope one day they will make some attractions inside and we will be able to see another part of it.
