The beach is nice . The environment very beautiful and very green . There is also a big free beach ( spiaggia libera ) . Otherwise the prices start from €25 and above . The bar is adequate for everything you want . After 1530 you don’t find any food but only snacks . One of the many nice beaches on the island

Lovely beach on SW corner of Elba. Small village beach located in a small cove with rocks either side and a sandy shelving beach to a line of moored boats 400ms off shore. Northern side of the bay, water deeper and steep sloping ricks act as a moorage for local boats.
Small sandy cove with beach bars, umbrellas and sun loungers cover the centre of the beach and free parts on the fringes. Parking can be very tricky but can be paid for, 8-10 Euros for half a day, if you can get a place on the centre of the village.
Very very busy in summer and at weekends.

The beach is really nice but not meant to be visited in August, when too crowded better to avoid it - daily parking fee quite expensive vs other places at Elba, 17€/day - water is clear and full of colours, nice for swimming

Too small to accommodate the vagaries of last minute tourists. It's a pity coz the scenery is gorgeous to say the least. Unless you arrive early enough, you are not likely to be able to park and enjoy nature nearby. Locals working in pubs, beach and reception are oftentimes overly stressed and end up being rude to people who simply seek advice. Elba is a paradise except in such an unpredictable post covid (hopefully) August.

This was one of those time when I did not follow reviews. My bad! The dinghy was very dirty, the cushions were all cracked and dirty, it all looked 100 years old, the boat ladder was broken and was very difficult to go back up. We were unable to mount the parasol because broken so we had to improvise shade for the children. Plus the staff was very disorganised. When we went back and started discussing these issues with the owner, he became extremely rude and said to go somewhere else if we were unhappy and did not care as he has enough clients. All of this for £320 for a small dirty broken dinghy! Listen to other’s reviews: DON’BE THE NEXT CLIENT!

We have just come back from the beautiful Island of Elba. We decided to go to Fetovaia beach mainly due to all the positive comments we had read on this and other websites. We are not strangers to Elba and we are lucky enough to be able to visit often as we live not too far away on main land Tuscany. It is for this reason we are now very use to paying to go on the beach, it normally guarantees that there will be at least some basic facilities like a washroom/WC plus you are able to hire a sun lounger and an umbrella but more than anything you pay to go on the beach because it usually guarantees that the people who manage and rent out the sun loungers and umbrellas keep the beach clean.
We arrived at Fetovaia on the 14th of June this year. Before even arriving at the beach you have no alternative but to pay for parking, as there are virtually no free parking spaces in the vicinity. We paid 10 Euros to park our car for the day, which is roughly about 2 – 4 Euros more than any other car park close to the beach charges. At the time we had no problem with this as it entitled us to a discount on the sun loungers and umbrella which normally costs maximum 20 Euro, however here they were 23 euro but with our discount we received a 3 euro discount on the loungers and a voucher that entitled us to another discount at the beach restaurant. The car park and beach club were both owned by Bagno/beach club BARBATOJA.
Once we had paid up we were shown to our sun loungers. We were horrified at how dirty both the beach and sea was. It was obvious that strong tidal currents had bought in a lot of muck from around the island. It is an unfortunate act of mother nature which we are fully aware can often occur. In fact on many occasions we have been to other beach clubs where the same thing has happened and we have seen the staff frantically raking up the seaweed and scooping up all the rubbish and paper which has been washed in. Obviously it is in their interest to keep the beach clean especially as they have paying guests. However the staff at Bagno BARBATOJA or in fact any of the other beach clubs on Fetovaia beach that day had no intention of cleaning anything up.
I politely spoke to one of the staff who seemed to be in charge and asked if anything could be done to clean the debris from the sand, as it was both unpleasant and dangerous especially to small children. It was politely explained to me that it was not their fault, it was the fault of the strong tidal currents and there was nothing they could do about it. It was only after I and others had complained and I took photos that some staff appeared with nets and rakes to clear the beach, this lasted for 5 minutes then they stopped.
We decided to leave the beach even though we had only been there less than an hour. Of course we asked if we could have some reimbursement which we were told yes they would look after us next time we came to the beach, I’m not sure what was meant by this but as we were leaving the next day we couldn’t take them up on their offer! We were told we could not have our money back because they had already issued a receipt. This time we complained a little more strongly at which point one of the young life guards answered “what do you expect us to do clean the beach all day? . Yes we said as it was all right for them to charge us 30 euro for the pleasure off sitting on a dirty beach.
I’m sure the beach is not always this dirty as I’ve seen some lovely pictures of it, but be warned and do you really want to spend 30 euros to go on a beach. We would recommend Cavoli or Biodola beach both have beautifully clear waters and the staff we met were professional, polite and friendly. The beach club owners and staff at Fetovaia are just riding on the beaches reputation and raking in the money, without any concern for the environment or customer service

It is not easy to find a nice beach on Elba. They are either huge and crowded or tiny, but hard to reach. Fetovaia instead is a beautiful scenic bay, has clear quite water, sandy ground, and trees all around. There is perfect infrastructure, with various restaurants, parking spaces, boats and umbrellas. Of course it has its cost, but it’s worth.

Beautiful beach and surroundings, benches are not too expensive compared to other beaches. Crowded but didnt bother us once we had bought benches. Parking can be hard especially if you are not staying at a hotel there. Would recommend.

Even in September, a bit after the high season, this beach is packed. There are 3 or 4 companies renting umbrellas and lounge chairs. Between them, they cover a great percent of the sand. However, services are convenient (restaurant, buffet, bar, changing areas, toilet). We had to park quite a distance away, up a steep hill. That said, the sand and the sea here are spectacular!

Grazie
