We were here on a warm day in April, so had the miles-long beach almost to ourselves. The water was still chilly, so we did not swim, but it looked clean. We had fun picking up sea glass. The sand is whiter and finer at the southern end of the beach. Apparently it's crowded in July and August.

You can bath the whole day under water without getting cold. Lovely sandy beach and extremely calm ocean in front. Stay three days continuously and enjoy the calmness, by far less crowded then some popular beaches nearer to Naples.
