This public garden area adds to the many attractions of Furnas. The plant life here is very rich and interesting with many exotic species. The arboretum collection includes several American Oaks, sequoias, tree ferns and many others.

Pleasant for strolling, biking - the public gardens are a nice attraction of Furnas. The area was apparently organized and carefully appointed in 1940s as a public project. There are some hot springs in the area. Very pleasant for a refreshing stroll.

These formal, mature gardens dating from 1942 are just off the town centre, with its own small hot , and cold water springs trickling down from the hills above.
These hot and cold springs are within inches of each other, just how does this happen ?
The park has some spectacular floral displays, both bedding plants such as Felicia and floribunda roses. There also some strikingly exotic plant specimums such as Bird of Paradise , Cannas plus the inevitable Hydrangea display.
There is a lot to see here fountains , streams and even a bandstand.
This park is really worth a visit, and the local authority must be proud of it.
