Khalid Nabi Cemetery
avg 2019.
Khalid Nabi Cemetery (Persian: گورستان خالد نبی‎, "Cemetery of the Prophet Khaled") is a cemetery in northeastern Iran's Golestan province near the border with Turkmenistan, roughly 40 miles (64 km) northeast of Gonbad-e Kavous city, in the Gokcheh Dagh hills of Turkmen Sahra. It is mainly situated on a mountain ridge about 1 km distance from the mausoleum called “Khaled Nabi” who according to oral tradition of the Yomut Turkomans was a pre-Islamic prophet and whose mausoleum is visited by them for pilgrimage together with the neighbouring one of Ata Chofun ("Father Shepherd"), his son-in-law.[1]

Different experience!
avg 2019. • Parovi
It was a different experience for us! you can not fine a way on your GPS to go there! but with more information you can find a way manually on your map. be careful on the way especially in middle of the week because there are no body to help you. when you arrive your destination with your car you can go easily to the Khalid Nabi Cemetery but for going to the historical cemetery with amazing gravestone you should hiking for 20 minutes and also 30 minutes for your coming back! do not forget that take bottle of water with yourself. i am sure you will enjoy because of unbelievable views in top of mountains especially if you go there in spring!

Unique Experience
apr 2019. • Parovi
The cemetry itself is a half an hour visit, though the landscapes in final 30 kilometers is unique. A couple of advise:
1. The best timing is mid April~ mid May. Snowy before, dry after. This is the green period.
2. Bring your mountain boots if it is rainy
3. Be there before sunset, enjoy the sunset
4. Don't forget: the bigger the stone manhood, the higher the rank of the man under your feet! :)

Khalid Nabi, a legendary cemetery over the green plains of the Thousand Valley
mar 2019. • Porodično
The shrine is located on top of the mountain, and if you look up above it, as if the heavens and the earth are tied together and the surrounding hillsides, known as a thousand hills, have transformed it into something that is not like the erath. The cemetery near the shrine of Khalid Nabi is believed to be the most mysterious cemetery in Iran and is known for its strange grave.

Something Totally Different
mar 2018. • Prijatelji
Khaled Nabi Ancient Cemetery is something totally different in Iran and maybe the world. There are many stones in the shape of man and woman genitals which are believed to be tomb stones. They are separated on several hills and one of the stones has the symbols of the two genders. Beside the historical value, this place has a wonder view especially during spring. Green is all you can see till infinity

Different feeling, Wonderful place
apr 2018. • Parovi
Visiting this place always was one of my dream. while I was on the way, I couldn't believe I am near to it, road was full of silence and also a little mysterious. My heart was beating and so happy which I can not tell about it. after half an hour walking , we reached Khalid Nabi cemetery with different stunning tombstones which can be so unique in Iran. Mausoleum of Khalid Nabi on top of the hill with hard accessibility is shining like diamond. Undoubtedly I suggest you to visit this place.

this is place with very special landscapes. Local peoples believe that one and the prophets (Khalid) buried in there and built three tombs for him two other of his followers and there are became a pilgrim place for Iranians. also there is a wonderful cemetery of very interesting shapes of stones somebody thinks that this cemetery belongs to stone age era, but unfortunately there is not very perfect scientific researches for that yet! also there is good place for nature lovers and its good to taking path through the hills

Khalid Nabi Shrine is a must see in northeastern Iran. The best time for visiting this place is spring when the area is green and you can have beautiful scenery over there.

Amazing landscape view
mar 2017. • Prijatelji
I think it is one of the most beautiful places in Iran
when you looking around from the top of the cemetery, it looks like Google map views.
thousands of green hills in 360 degree are continued to the horizon.
and if you are lucky, the clouds and the sun rays make it a perfect place for photographers.
there is also a cemetery near there with many tombstones in male and female sexual symbol shapes.
