Great place

This place is meaningful for Vietnamese people. Family with teenagers should come here. The meals are delicious and so cheap!

Vietnamese has to go here
okt 2018. • Prijatelji
Nothing to see here, the landscape isn't so special. It's better if you go here at sun set time. Really naturally and hoarse! The fresh crab but isn't cheap. It has a meaning with Vietnamese people because it is the south end of Vietnam.

Southern end
jun 2018. • Porodično
If you come to Ca mau, you should take a visit here for the end of southern Viet nam. Costs 10,000vnd for entry ticket. Prepare hat, umbrella for a walk to the sea side which will be very sunny.

Route is better than destiny

Dat Mui, all I knew about this place was that its 100 kms south of Ca Mau and that its not only the southern most tip of Vietnam but also the end of mainland Southeast Asia. My voyage to this end of the earth was not possible without knowing Vietnamese. This place is untouched by tourism and hardly any locals speak English. Thanks to my friend at the hotel (one of the staff at Muong Thanh Ca Mau Luxury hotel) who agreed to accompany me ( I couldn’t have done it alone and it was his first time too, so I am not guilty 🙃). The marshes around Ca Mau form one of the largest swamplands in the world. No wonder, waterways became my mode of transport. I took a speedboat to datmui and was lucky to get a window seat to look out on the whole floating civilisation. People were rowing boats from one house to another in their neighbourhood, selling and buying vegetables and what not! Who cares about the destination when you enjoy the ride so much! There is nothing much to do once you reach the Cape of Camau though. You will obviously take the signature photos once you are at the spot and that becomes your best souvenir. I walked around the forest area which was pretty nice, clicked a lot of photos for one Vietnamese honeymoon couple and became a part of many local people’s selfie ( as I was the only foreigner there.... yes ONLY). You can go by a slow boat ( it will be a very long journey from Camau, take a slow boat from Nam Can for better pictures) or on a motorbike. Nam can can be reached by a bus. I didn’t eat anything at Mui Ca Mau, but there are many restaurants around.

7:30 AM - 13 Nov. 2016 Ca Mau province After a very nice breakfast at Saigon Rach Gia hotel, The road to Ca Mau was too narrow with a lot of holes and people were trying to fix that slowed us down terribly. After over two hours, finanlly we arrived at the Ca Ma city then we took a motor boat to go to Dat Mui (Ca Mau cape), the tip of the country. Here we could see this province characterized by its system of transport canals and most goods are transported by the long boats (võ lãi) and barges. We had lunch at a nice restaurant with a lot tall trees around (cây tràm, cây đước) and the special local dishes that I just tried the first time in my life! What a thrill trip any how! It took us about one hour back to Ca Mau city. We checked in Anh Nguyệt hotel: Sorry! I had a nightmare! For sure! Never again!

A bit adventure trip!

Ca MAu is 350km from HCMC, if you start in HCMC, better do 1 night in Cantho, then next day you can go from Cantho to Ca Mau, The Ca Mau Cape can only be reach by more than 1 hour express boat and the landscape of mangrove forest also nice to see. When you get there you have chance to climb up to the observation tower to have a panoramic view of Ca Mau National Park. The Ca Mau cape is southern end of Vietnam to the south so it is also consider as our historical site. Ca mau Cape is more popular to Vietnamese than foreigners.

Cape Ca Mau : great place and fantastic restaurant
avg 2016. • Parovi
It is a long drive from Ca Mau to its cape, but well worth it. Stop along the route for the mangrove forests. At the Cape, after the obligatory picture in front of the monument we had a nice walk and were impressed by the strength of the wind here. We had a local driver who took as to "Huong Dat Mui", an unforgettable restaurant, totally unpretentious, built out of wood, with hammocks for the siesta. The food (giant shrimp from the Mekong, sea and sweet water fish) are still alive when you order. Near the Cape there is a tourist resort (Ve Tham Quan Khu Du Lich Dat Mui); IMHO it's not worth the drive, as it is in early development.

Worth a visit
jul 2016. • Porodično
We traveled to Ca Mau city before having a side trip to this Southern most cape. The journey passed by lush green mangroves, canals, bridges and marine farms. The place has a GPS point, a symbolic boat and a nice walking path which is in fact a sea dyke to prevent erosion and sea surge. The landscape is nice, but overall this tour has nothing to do for foreigners!

Nothing to do but proud of being Vietnamese
jun 2016. • Prijatelji
The feeling of standing right next to the south milestone of Viet Nam puts in my mind a big proud of being a citizen of this country. Our ancestor spent a very difficult time with fly mosquitoes, cruel animal like crocodiles, tigers, ect to expand and safe our land. Now we have freedom and keep building it. I just feel like appreciate a lot for what we have today.
