Neighborhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

- NidgehammerStevenage, United Kingdom4,808 contributionsLovely Little Theatre…First time to this theatre, there can’t be many of the main London theatres we haven’t now visited and we were most pleasantly surprised. I must admit that central seats in row 6 helped the experience, we felt we were almost on the stage but I don’t think you’re ever that far away here. The bar was very reasonably priced and staff all seemed happy and friendly. Massive mention also for the show, one of the most exhilarating and enjoyable we’ve ever seen - Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, the story of The Temptations, fast paced, wonderfully choreographed and slick, powerful performances and vocals. Wonderful..Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 6, 2023

Located near many restaurants and cafes for a catch up before your show. We saw Aint Too Proud which was exceptional. The Theatre was well kept and had great decor. It was bright and attractive. We sat in the front row, had a great view and plenty of room.Visited April 2023Traveled with friendsWritten April 20, 2023
- JPDLEIGH254 contributionsA great Theatre, one of the best we’ve visited in London. We loved this Wonderful theatre, hence the 5* review…it had a lovely atmosphere and decor. We had fabulous, comfortable mid front row dress circle seats. Quite enjoyed the show and we have to say a big thank you to one of the extremely helpful staff, Chelsie, who went above and beyond to help us after a difficult start before the show.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 30, 2023
- Cjarvi2013London, United Kingdom26 contributionsPrince Edward TheatreGreat theatre and fantastic show, Ain’t to Proud, the story of the Temptations, the long running and iconic Motown group, the theatre is easy to find and the staff all very friendly and helpful. It is possible to order and. Pay for a drink before the interval and have it left out, the theatre is well located as a base from which to see the National Gallery and there are many restaurants surrounding it.Visited June 2023Traveled soloWritten June 25, 2023
- Connie0804 contributionsFirst class customer serviceWe came to see Ain't too Proud in May 2023, which was wonderful. But what really stood out was the fantastic staff - the doorman at the front who noticed my friend with her walking stick and came over to help us, and when inside the theatre Ben went out of his way to make sure we were ok. Above and beyond - thanks guys! :) We will be back next year to see the Michael Jackson show.Visited May 2023Written July 17, 2023
- amelia b15 contributionsOutstanding show!WOW, this show is outstanding! The cast, the singing, the music, the dancing, the story telling etc....just everything about the musical was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time!! The singing is amazing, the power in their voices hit the roof of the theatre. I cried twice and had goose bumps many times! It's a shame Ain't to proud' is coming to an end as I would definetly go again and recommed to others!Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 30, 2023

Fantastic matinee show of Ain't to proud..The Temptations Full packed theatre with great atmosphere. Drinks very reasonably priced, although not a great choice of Ales for hubby. A few ladies were wanting white wine and all they were offered was Prosecco as they had run out.Visited August 2023Written August 6, 2023

- Jay BFairhope, Alabama1,050 contributionsA Wonderful Classic TheaterWe saw the new Temptations play, entitled "Ain't Too Proud", in this wonderful theater and had a blast! The theater harkens back to the "good old days", with the old fashioned ambiance and seating. London's West End has numerous fun options, but we found the Prince Edward to be one of the best.Visited May 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten August 16, 2023

Great singers and choreography was impeccable. A special mention to Emily and Nathan in the Dress Circle who took exceptionally good care of us seated in accessible seating. They are a credit to DelfontMackintosh Customr Care team. The songs gave us a lovely trip down memory lane. Went to see Mary Poppins and the website and their own email mentions numerous times how we are COVID secure and that theatre goers need to wear masks at all times and that proof of vaccination or a negative test result is required for entry.
Waiting in the line the barriers say have your COVID result ready, and guess what all you get is a bag check nothing to see if you’ve been vaccinated or have a negative test result.
Inside the theatre there are numerous people maskless and inside the theatre at the seating area 99% of people I could see and were sitting close to were maskless.
I just hope that the requirement for a negative test/vaccination scared enough people into doing this thinking they’d be asked for it because if not then it’s hardly COVID secure.
Will not be returning to this theatre for any show now due to this lax carefree attitude for the health and well-being for the customers and employees who are inside.

Show cancelled after standing in a crowded bar for nearly 45 minutes..No refund offered only face value of tickets to rebook, same tickets were £54 more expensive. Lost over £100 in travel and other expenses for day, told that no compensation will be given for this.Understand that these things happen, but some sort of compensation should be offered. We are a normal family and have lost so much money on top of the dissapointment. No choice but to rebook and will have to pay all travel etc costs again.

This is more a review of the theatre than the excellent production of Mary Poppins. We would give this production 5 stars, even though not our kind of musical. Unfortunately when I booked months ago hadn't realised it was half term. This 1,711 seater lovely 1930 theatre was packed. I have been shielding and this was my 1st theatre outing for 2 years. I was reassured when, a few days before, the theatre emailed to ask we bring proof of vaccination or lateral flow test etc. Entry was to be be in a time slot at a designated entrance. Mask wearing was requested . NONE of these measures were being implemented as far as I could see. We were rushed in any entrance and street queue bag check by unmasked staff. Inside foyer was packed. We estimate 10% wore masks and many took them off when show started. Little A4 signs displayed asked for masks, social distancing etc. At the start of the show when the PA announcements were made no mention of mask wearing being requested. In other words the so called covid measures were in name only. Queue for ladies in dress circle long & tightly packed for small ladies toilets. This all marred enjoyment of a very good production. I won't be going back to any theatre unless they are going to actually take measures as stated.

We went to see Mary Poppins few days ago and the performance was formidable! The cast was amazing and the show experience unique!
I’ve rated this theatre with the least score as there were no measure in place for COVID. The employee were all wearing a mask but for the rest of the people attendee the show almost everybody were not wearing a mask or respect any kind of social distancing.
The requirement to attend the show was to present either a COVID negative test or to show your vaccination document. None of these were asked to us.
I felt apprehensive and disappointed. I wore my mask for the entire time I was in the theatre to protect others, but what about me?
Absolutely terrible.

What a fantastic show , great seats in the stalls , but even if you had other seats you wouldn’t miss a thing . The cast played there parts brilliantly, the costumes bright and colourful and the set very cleverly thought out . Programmes £10 , plus there was other merchandise if you were interested. Petula Clarke played the bird women, not a very big part but at 87 and still treading the boards is amazing .

The Musical is a true masterpiece! Parents, grandparents and children (age 5 & 13)enjoyed every minute of it! We are still overwhelmed with emotions by this stunning performance.
The theatre staff helped us massively. We booked tickets for the 2:30 pm performance and were stuck on the train for 3 hours due to the fire. When we called to the theatre and described our desperate and disappointing situation, their response was immediate and prompt. They not only changed our tickets to the 7:30 pm show but went the extra mile and contacted the 3rd party who we booked tickets with. I am so grateful for their kindness and extreme willingness to help! They resqued our day in London!

Wife and a came Saturday evening. Had excellent views with front row in the grand circle. Show was a mix of old and new songs but all really well done with some great effects. Theatre itself was nice. Not much room in the bar and toilets but no complaints as it’s such an old building. Really enjoyed it.

I went for the evening performance of Mary Poppins on 26/8/21 seat A7, I had seen another show on the previous night at another theatre. I was surprised at the queue snaking around the corner considering previous night had a specific time & door to enter. However the queue moved very quickly thanks to the efficiency of all the staff.
Another great theatre in London with a fantastic family show, star performers, singers, dancers, orchestra, sound, lighting & set were first class.

The show was excellent with unexpected scene activity, all the cast were also excellent especially 'Mary', of course. I had never heard of any of the cast which again shows how much wonderful talent is out there without having so called 'stars'.
We had a great view of the stage from the circle, although the steps there may be to steep for some.
Really enjoyed it

We experienced a revamped and modern version of a classic. Very well done. The stage and special effects were very well constructed with very nice transitions. The kids were fabulous and Petula Clark was a special touch.

What are slip Seats?

We sat in AA 4 & 5. We paid £20 each and was surprised with how good they were. I’d recommend for any students/families on a budget wanting to take in a show!
Don’t get me wrong, we had to sit leaning against the safety rail for the whole show but if you can live with that then you’ll be fine! I’ve added a review titled ‘slip Seats’ if you wish to search for it and look at our view.
If you want the comfort and to sit back in your seat pay an extra few quid!
is the the circle box 1 or 2 are good my wife use a wheel chair it is easy to go in.tks

Sorry, Vincent, we were in the grand circle and had to climb many stairs. Suggest you ring the theatre and ask them for help. There might be a lift. You are in for a great night out!

Hi! Looking to book tickets for matinee performance of mary Poppins and just wondered if anyone knew what time it finishes? Just for booking train home after, thank you!

I saw the matinee earlier this week on Thursday and it finished at 5.15pm. That said it can take up to 10mins to leave the theatre depending on where you are sat. I also needed to visit the restroom before I left...I had to queue for 15mins...

I'm taking my 3 year old but as it's an evening performance, I'm taking along his pushchair as he will probably fall asleep on the train journey back. Is there somewhere to store the pushchair at the theatre?

I'm not too sure. I guess they would have somewhere for you to put the pushchair. May be phone and ask them.
Have a fab time xx

Hi, what are the views from the slip seats like at Dress Circle level?
travellingtheworld
Manchester, UK79 contributions
We went to Mary Poppins and paid £20 each for the slip Seats. Not the most comfortable way to watch a show but great if you’re on a budget like us. You have to lean forward against the safety rail in front to see the stage. There’s probably a very small percentage of stage you don’t see (bottom right entrance). I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase tickets here again either to be honest- they were great. I’ve added a review titled ‘slip Seats’ with a photo if you wish to take a look at our view.
