    Great, intimate experience.
Went to see The Interdimensional ABK at this theatre. Plenty of space to hang around before the show, a bar on each floor and two in the arena itself, usable also for the break and intermission. Whole Theatre is nicely maintained for such a small venue, and a real credit to supporting smaller acts.

    Difficult to describe
We saw their version of Much Ado, a play I don’t know but it would have added to the enjoyment if I did. It was sometimes difficult to follow how far the original plot had been twisted. The “drunk” character on this occasion was Hero. It was difficult to tell if she was drunk or not, or whether she was just overacting for effect. Some of the audience sounded almost like regulars and I wasn’t sure if the man playing Margaret was a plant or not. However it is great value for money and a special call out to Ellie of the staff who switched my tickets from one night to another with effortless ease.

    Nice theatre
Visited with my adult son to watch Frankie Boyle - the theatre is easily located just off Leicester Square. We had seats G25 and G26 which had an excellent view but the theatre is quite small so I think all seats would have a good view. There are several bar areas. The staff were friendly and overall entry/exit handled efficiently. Well priced tickets for central London - I will look out for more tickets here.

    Great Comedy Theatre
What a great theatre this is. In a side road between Leicester Square and Chinatown, it sits beneath a church! However, once you're through the tiny box office area and down the stairs, there's a cosy bar and toilets then down some more stairs into the auditorium. This is a spacious area with a bar on either side which closes a few minutes before the curtain rises on the main event. This is mainly a comedy venue and we've seen both The Sh*tfaced Shakespeare Company and Jason Byrne here. The seats are a generous size and there's plenty of legroom so you can concentrate on the act rather than trying to stretch your legs without disturbing your neighbour!

Wonderfully helpful front of house team with elderly in laws- thank you!
What a great act! ( Stuart Lee) And an amazing team! Thank you so so much to the amazing front of house team who got my elderly in laws out of the queue, to take their time into the venue- then found them some chairs whilst they waited. You don’t get that kind of service in London these days. Thank you so so much.

    A pleasant, funny evening
Those people that cannot appreciate the admittedly left field humour of Stewart Lee - yes. that is you, Pat R from Accington - should perhaps go and watch Michael McIntyre or Peter Kay instead. Knowing his brand of humour, myself and a friend were in stitches as he trashed JK Rowling, Phoebe Waller-Smith etc... The theatre itself is lovely: compact and intimate. There is a bar and toilets downstairs that most people didn't know existed

Very extremely over priced. Same price for adults and under 5s. £26. Not a good enough show or experience. It was empty at the front but when I tried to book it was fully booked at the front. It was not worth it for me I paid over £100 for something which was a waste. Didn't even play the right theme tune. I would never come here again even if it was free.

The Leicester Square Theatre is a charming, cozy venue in Theatreland right in the heart of London &less than 5minutes from Leicester Square tube station.
Staff were attentive dealing effectively & professionally with over-exuberant customers but very friendly throughout.
It's wonderful that a theatre with a capacity of 400 had 3separate bars -1 of which is in the reception area &the other 2 are in the heart of the theatre itself. Bar prices were very reasonable for central London.
On top of that the concert we went to see was amazing (Mark Kingswood - definitely go &see him if you get a chance!)

I've recently seen Stephen K Amos & Stewart Lee here & it's a great place for a comedy gig. Despite Stephen referring to it as a "dungeon", I like it as it reminds me of the Soho I remember from my youth in the 1980s. It may not be the smartest place in town, but it has atmosphere, which is far more important. The seats are OK.

I have to say (with relation to earlier reviews) that I was disappointed by Stewart Lee at this same place only a few weeks ago. I was expecting so much more, he seemed jaded & bitter. Whereas I was persuaded by a friend to see Stephen K Amos & I was blown away - just a natural comedian who seemed to love his job. His riffing with a guy in the front row was hilarious That's not the impression that Stewart Lee gave.

Be warned that this theatre does like to cram two shows into one night, so if you attend a comedy gig on a Saturday night at 7, you'll be out again before 9.30 so the second show can go ahead. If you want some late night entertainment, this may not suit you

But I'll be back again soon.

Very happy to still be going out and supporting businesses, but covid measures need to be foolproof and not just a box ticking exercise. All they did was check your temperature on your wrist and check your bag before going in. Myself and my partner recently had covid and we never got a temperature. Don't see why a covid pass and negative test can't be checked as well. The idea that 'masks are mandatory' inside the theatre is flawed. Saw many people without a drink or food without one, who then later conveniently put one on while exiting the theatre (logical...). Or those who held a mask in their hand instead of wearing it. The majority of the row in front of me did not have a mask on. When you're in the basement of an enclosed space and there's no social distancing, it's really not a comfortable experience, even if you are triple jabbed and have had covid.

The toilets, whilst clean, are incredibly tight and narrow. I get that this is London and the theatre is old, but be prepared to have to move out of the way mid hand washing to let someone else past, and knock the loo roll holder whilst trying to wrangle your way in/out of the stall kind of thing. On the positive side, the door is push on your way out so at least you don't have to touch a handle after washing your hands.

Finally, someone give this theatre funding to replace their seats. They are not clean and the springs make noises during the show as people move in their seats, which is distracting.

Theatre was atmospheric, clean with helpful staff. Lots of booster seats for the kids.
Stick Man show was poor, cast did their best, but there is little of interest in the show. it felt like a very amateur production. Granny and Grandpa fell asleep, 3 year old lost interest within 10 minutes. 3 adults holding a stick soon loses its appeal.

Visited to see West End Magic on a Saturday afternoon. Reasonable price and reasonable seating but not quite what we expected. The show was more comedic / cabaret style than we expected, most of the audience was families with young kids and some of the acts (ventriloquism and ninjas) were not traditional ‘magic’. The venue itself needs a serious refit of the ridiculously narrow ladies loos - at 7 months pregnant I struggled to squeeze down the corridor and into a cubicle!

Went to watch Stuart Lee last night what a disappointment he seemed completely unprepared for his performance and was winging it drolling on and on with material he had used many years ago. Suffice to say we were bored not entertained and left at his first break. Dont waste your hard earned money on this poor show there are numerous others available in the area.

I’ve been many times to this brilliant, central London comedy venue and I’ve always had a fantastic evening! Unfortunately, Michelle Wolf’s March ‘24 show was an unmitigated disaster: unfunny and embarrassingly underrehearsed (I really don’t expect to pay so much to see someone still referring to their notes …) Sadly, and unexpectedly, Wolf churned out tired and cringeworthy old jokes about motherhood (anyone else aware it could be difficult? Yawn …) and lashed out at audience members who criticised her illogical stance on misogyny. Overall, it was an appalling failure. Now mind-numbingly dull, Wolf is well past her prime.Come on Leicester Square Theatre.: you know you can do better!
