When you are walking towards the new castle with his great park in front of it, you also will see in it the “anniversary column” in the center of the “Schlossplatz” the colun is crowned by the “100-centner Goddess Concordia”. The column was built on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the government and the 60th birthday of King Wilhelm I of Württemberg from this from the year 1841 until the year 1846.The column itselfs consists out of a 30 meter high granite shaft, the 5 meter high statue of the Roman goddess Concordia, four reliefs with historical scenes and four allegorical figures at the corners of the pillar. Nice location to have a fine walk with fine views.

The jubilee column in the center of Schlossplatz was erected in honor of the quarter-century anniversary of the reign of the second king of Württemberg, William. The royal title actually presented by Napoleon to the Duke of Württemberg in 1806, Father Wilhelm Friedrich managed to defend at the Congress of Vienna. Wilhelm, in order to stay on the throne, had to maneuver and establish a bicameral parliament in Württemberg, making the kingdom the most liberal in Germany. On the column there is a corresponding obsequious inscription to the king from the estates: "To the most faithful friend of his people, King William the Beloved, the estates of Württemberg dedicate this monument in honor of his 25th anniversary of his reign, October 30, 1841.“ The pedestal shows the battles in which the Württembergers won victories over the former allies of the French under the leadership of the then heir to the throne William. Naturally, the battle of Montero, where Napoleon completely defeated them, is modestly silent... On the column there is a 5-meter statue of the Roman goddess of Concord - Concordia. As the Romans said, Ubi concordia, ibi victoria.

It is an impressive part of the overall impression of the palatial square... and good to see, even with the scaffolding/repair work to it.

Jubiläumssäule is located in Schlossplatz (City Centre). It is a 30 meter high column, commemorating the 25th anniversary (1841) and the 60th birthday of king Wilhelm I. von Württemberg in 1846. Building started in 1842 after design by archtitect was Johann Michael von Knapp and in 1846 it was finished.
In 1863 a 5 m high statue of Concordia by Ludwig von Hofer was placed on the top.
You can't miss it if you are there.

The Birthday tower of King Wilhelm is quite a feature in the central saure. Towering above everything else around it is quite imposing. The square, fountains and surroundings all support the portrayal of this grand and imposing column.

Standing proudly in the center of Schlossplatz, the Jubiläumssäule anniversary column commemorates the birthday of King Wilhelm I of Württemberg. The column's height and placement, makes it stand out from the buildings around it. Also close by, are two pretty fountains. Nice area to hang out, in the summertime.
