This location has at least 7 rooms and are on two levels. Our group was split into several rooms due to our size. The staff were very friendly and at first we thought we would have a great time. I love escape games and have done several before. My group was put into the SAW room and I had several issues. The first is that the rooms in this escape are very dark and we were never told our walkie talkie had a light on it. Other groups told us that after. That alone would have been a huge help as one of my group tried to use their watch light and we were told not to, and still not told about the light we had. My second complaint is that while most things that we should not be touching were well marked with stop stickers, there were a few things that were not. We wasted time opening a panel that went to the HVAC of the building. We were never told to leave it alone. The second thing was a sink full of faux blood and guts. We thought we needed to get to the bottom of it and since there was no stop sticker or black X tape then one of my team put his hands in and it stained his hands. My third complaint was that the items in the room seemed very run down. For example the layout of tiles for a puzzle were located, but the ink was so worn that it was hard for us to tell what it was. Some of the locks seemed a bit difficult even when we had the right code.

My husband and I have played many escape games in many cities: Prague, Bucharest, Berlin, Paris and several in the U.S. - We love the fun of solving riddles and working together. Unfortunately, the Saw room at Secret Escape was the second worst escape game we've ever played. Before we booked, we researched Secret Escape to ensure that we could play the game using English. From the first task, our instructions were not clear and we were informed that we must go back to the first location and start over. I will not detail what that was so I do not spoil it for others. In the second room, we were stuck and our host informed us that all we needed to know was written on the pages in front of us. The instructions on the pages were only in German. Our host told us to find the page in English but there wasn't an English word in the whole packet. The host ended up reading the sentences to us - which was helpful but we didn't have anything to write on and we had to try to remember the sentences in order. This wasted a lot of our time. There was also a problem with one of the tasks involving a safe. The safe instructions were on the door of the safe, only in German. Once we figured out the code to the safe, it would not open and that wasted our time as well. Also, the first room was not very clean. When searching for something, I tried to feel the ledges around the room and they were dirty and dusty. Clues were not logical and even though the online description states an age limit, there was very little that was scary. The hosts working that day were very nice and professional, but we found a lot lacking in our experience and cannot recommend it.

Great teambuilding experience. The choice of activities and rooms is good but since I've already seen that people complain about the older ones, I got our team leder to pick between the 3 newest choices. The overall experience was amazing - the rooms filled with clues, amazing scenery and interesting quirks and mechanisms to keep the entire team guessing... Awesome!!!

We did two rooms in a row: "Laboratory" and "Das Geheimnis der Puppen".

After the first room (Lab), I was already preparing to write a 2-3 stars review: the room is small, old, a lot of accessories are broken, there is no secret "second room" and the scenario is very "linear" (you discover one clue at a time, which leads to the next clue, and so on, and so forth, so the whole team is always working on solving the same puzzle).

We then moved to the second room (Das Geheimnis der Puppen), which was a completely different experience! The decoration and scenarios were much more polished, the room was full of secret compartments and ingenious mechanisms, the puzzles much more original, and required full collaboration of the team to uncover clues (instead of the linear approach from the first room). If it was only for this room, I would have written a 5 star review.

We later learned that the "lab" is one of their oldest rooms, which explains why it is not as well designed. Thus make sure to pick one of the new rooms and avoid the old ones (I would even advise that they close it completely!)

First things first: We (6 friends and myself) had fun! It took us a good 45 minutes to complete the Ocean's Challenge. The room was interesting, even a little bit educational, and we left satisfied, sure to have gotten our money's worth.
We had to wait about half an hour though, because the group before us was late. I wish it would have been different, but I guess things like that happen. The kept us happy with a free drink each, and looking back, I guess if I would have been late with my group, I would ave been happy to still be able to go in, so fair enough they treat others the same way ...
Overall service was average: even though we had free drinks and a nice introduction etc., the place itself has a less than suited cut architecturally speaking for the sort of venue it is, so there was some friction regarding wardrobe, locker access, and contact with the office (no open meet-and-greet or something like (writing area ist big, though).
Let me emphasize again: we had our money's with of fun (never mind the wait).

It was really fun and well "Harry Potter" decorated! We got stuck one or twice so we asked for advices, and then finished way ahead of time 🙈 maybe just give us a hint instead of the answer right away so it gives us a direction but we still have to find out the next step by ourselves ;)

We have played a large number of games across Europe, and this one was up there in terms of number of good, challenging puzzles, and variety of challenges, with some which were a brand new style to us. We got out with only a couple of clues and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

The negatives - this was the only room we have done without a countdown timer in the room and, in order to get clues (normally given when the person running the game thinks you are falling behind or stuck) you have to call them with a walkie Talkie.

The worst, and the reason for three stars, was that, when we booked, we were assured it was In English. Prior to starting, we were again assured that all clues were In English. However, halfway through, we uncovered a major instructional clue, entirely in German, with the translation on the walkie talkie not much help. A bit disappointing as we had specifically asked this twice prior to playing. Not as slickly run as other games we have played.

Dear Benemma82, we are constantly interested in improving our service and offer best entertainment experience to our customers. Therefore your feedback is extremely valuable to us. Thus we’d like to comment on a few major points from your review 1.) Countdown timer: Recently it is a common trend for escape rooms not to use countdown timers in order to avoid disappointment if players didn’t manage to escape in time. We are piloting this approach in some of our room to get a feeling whether the absence of the countdown time has substantial influence on the payers’ perception after the game. 2.) Communication: Walkie talkie is part of the scenario in the room you’ve played. In the earlier version of the room we communicated with our players over intercom in the CCTV cameras but changed to walkie talkie taking clients’ feedback into account. 3.) Hints from game operators: Vast majority of feedback we receive asks us to refrain from active help to players. Many groups want to challenge their abilities and thus we intervene only if we see that the group is behind the time (based on statistics from other games). Is it possible that you’ve asked for help too frequently and thus were not able to enjoy the challenge to full extent? 4.) English language: We are mostly surprised about this feedback as 50% of our customers are non German speaking clients and we never heard any complaints. All our hints are bilingual and an English test is part of the job interview or all game operators. Could you please provide us more detail on where you’ve encountered hints in German language during your game. Best wishes, Your Secret Escape team
