The "Broletto" is on a side of Como main Cathedral ("Duomo"). It is a medieval building in stones of different colours (white, grey and red) in romanesque-gothic style, and it is the original seat of the Commune of Como.
It stands between the Cathedral, and the Cathedral's bell tower.
A very interesting view, it is well maintained, and the visit is only of the exterior building.

This beautiful building is attached to the left side (when one faces the main entrance) of the cathedral. It has four arches and it's open on both sides. Curiously, there are 3 window on one side, of which one has a different design, and 4 on the other side.

A 'Broletto' is a medieval meeting hall of Lombardian cities. It can be encountered in various places of that province, but maybe the most famous till now is the 'Broletto' of the city of Como. A rectangular building with arches, open to all sides and attached to the northern side of the Duomo, the city's cathedral.

It is an attractive multicolor construction with different kind of stones and there are several information boards, also in English, telling about the history of this fascinating secular building. From under its arches there are beautiful views towards the Piazza del Duomo in front.

The Broletto is located just next to the cathedral.
It dates back to medieval times, when it was used as the municipality of Como.
Its most striking feature are the ancient arches, which have been lovingly restored to their original look, from several centuries ago.

Visited this place when I took a tour to Como. This building is attached to the Como cathedral, & was the city town hall in the past. It is opened on 2 sides & has nice arches along those sides. Inside there were infoboards about its interesting history. Worth a visit if you are in Como. Reading the infoboards while being at the exact location brings the history back to life.

It’s neat to be so close to history and imagine the way life was hundreds of years ago with merchants and shoppers milling about the area. Walking under the arches and touching the old columns is a step back in time. Not easy for people with mobility issues.

I initially thought this was a church due to the front of the building. However, it was the town hall in the past and now hosts art exhibitions and other events. It's right next to the Duomo.

The Broletto was the original church before the Duomo, and it was crudely cut off to make room for the new, more important Duomo, and left as a storage facility for may years. Now appreciated for both the historical significance and natural beauty, the upper floor has been restored and prepared as exhibition space, and the bottom floor is an appropriate space for the city tourist office.

Building boasts a Gothic façade with polychrome marble from the quarries of Lake Como, flanked by ca ivic tower made of rusticated stone. The building was erected in 1215. If you walk by stop for a while and have a look at it, if it is open go inside.
