My husband and I were going to Tuscany in May. A relative suggested we book a tour with Roberto as they booked one with Roberto a year ago an loved it. We are so happy that we did! Roberto picked us up at the place where we were staying. We enjoyed our conversations with him and the additional information about the towns that we were going to over the next few days. We had a fabulous lunch overlooking the town of Greve, visited a little church with beautiful murals, had wine tastings (we bought several bottles) and went to several small towns. The weather was not ideal but Roberto proved to make everything about the tour perfect. The next day he texted us with the names of great restaurants in each town we were going to visit. Each one proved to be excellent. I can’t say enough about Roberto. He was informative, funny and an overall pleasant person to be with. I highly recommend booking a tour with this company when you’re in Italy. You’ll be so glad that you did!!!

In July (2020), my husband and I, along with a close friend, spent 5 days exploring the Assisi, Spello to Spoleto area of Umbria with Giovanni. He met with us 3 times before our departure date to discuss where we wanted to go and what we wanted to see. His knowledge, input and advice was invaluable. Thanks to him we also included Orvieto and are so glad we did not miss this amazing city. His stories of the towns we were in and the areas we were traveling through were both insightful and delightful. They brought the region alive for us. He took us to restaurants and trattorias that were off the beaten tourist track with amazing, local food. Gio's understanding of my obsession with sunflower fields was wonderful. He stopped at every given opportunity, without being asked, so I could photograph the fields in full bloom. We are now planning our next trip with Gio to Naples and the surrounding area. We can hardly wait to have our next adventure with Gio. We are not "tour guide" kind of people, but Giovanni is the prime exception to the rule.

We only had 2.5 days in Florence and booked an all day tour to Lucca and Pisa, so we could see more of the area. Roberto was our driver and couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. We especially like driving through the Tuscan countryside and stopping at his family farm. Our wine tasting and lunch at Fattoria Maionchi was FANTASTIC, as was the olive oil we brought home. Roberto helped us purchase train tickets for our return to Rome. Friends recommended this company to us, and we are happy to recommend this company to others.

I cannot say enough about Roberto from Sunshine Tours! You will not be disappointed if you work with this company for your travels. Book early, they do get booked quickly. My girls and I had a fabulous time. Roberto was our driver to Portovenere so we could make our journey to Cinque Terre. Along the way he had just a wealth of information, he’s extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional. He had the ability to engage with teenagers which is an ability on its own!!! He was always on time for our pick-ups. Every location we were staying in he had many suggestions and recommendations for restaurants and things to do in that area. We also had a wonderful day trip to Pisa and a tour to the hills above Lucca to view villas. We were unable to get a proper connection to Naples so he drove us to Naples so we could catch our train to Rome. Grazie Roberto!

We booked two tours with Roberto and had an amazing time. Roberto is knowledgeable, professional, and honest. He took us to some of the most beautiful sights that were off the beaten path and we greatly appreciated that. He designed two days worth of excellent itineraries. We actually booked the same two tours in the summer of 2020 however, we could not go to Italy, due to Covid. Roberto made sure to fully refund us all of our money. This year we were able to make it and we are very pleased we used Tuscan Sunshine Tours again! We highly recommend them.

We recently returned from our trip to Florence, via Seaborne Cruises. We booked a tour with Tuscan Sunshine ahead of time. We were picked up at the dock and then driven part way to Florence when we came upon a major truck accident. We were held up in traffic for 3 hours, then when we finally arrived in Florence our Tuscan Sunshine guide said we were going to see the City in one hour since she had another tour booked after us. It was so rushed and harried that we saw little and had very little explained to us. We contacted Franco at Tuscan Sunshine to ask for some kind of reduction in price and were told that it was our fault that we missed everything. Upon notification that we would write a review of them on TripAdvisor (where we found them) Franco said he learned a new English word "blackmail". He agreed to refund part of our tour fees ($1,000.00) but did not. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Tuscan Sunshine Tours, as represented by Franco and Stefano, is happy to receive feedback from all our clients, even in the case of unfavourable reviews. With regards to this comment, however, we would like to point out some specific details that the client has failed to include. The tour from Livorno was handled by one of our professional drivers, Angelo, who found himself blocked in traffic at the moment of a truck accident, of which he was not a part and that he could not have prevented. The block was serious and caused traffic to stand still for a few hours. We were in constant contact with our diver, trying in every way to resolve the problem. Once the accident was cleared, the clients were taken to Florence, where they were met by a guide, who adapted his tour of the city to 2 hours (instead of 4) because of the delay. For this reason the guide offered to refund 2 hours of service, while we reimbursed 1 hour considered the missed tour which had been late planned for Pisa. Naturally, had the cause of the day's problems been within our control, the reimbursement would have been total. The clients claimed that we in fact were responsible and asked to be reimbursed for much more than we could agree to, not having been, ourselves, the direct cause of the delay and subsequent cut on time for tours. A refund for their day-gone-badly could have been asked to those responsible of the car accident, but the clients knew that this was, of course, impossible, and chose to take out their frustration and understandable disappointment on us. Unfortunately we cannot be held accountable for extraordinary or disastrous events, nor can we solely bare the complete economic consequences of such situations. We too were frustrated by the difficulties created, and disappointed to see the consequent behaviour of our clients. the funny thing is.... if Clients were departing from the ship exactly at the fixed time, and not later as they did, probably the feedback was another great one. We thank all of the clients who provide us with feedback on Trip Advisor and guarantee our utmost professionalism, courtesy and honest. Franco and Stefano.

We took the tour of Siena and San Gimignano, and our guide was not nearly as helpful or knowledgeable as we had expected. We would choose a different company next time.

Our Montalcino wine tour, guided by Franco was INCREDIBLE. I work in the hotel industry (picky is an understatement). I've been on a number of tours and Tuscan Sunshine Tours provides BY FAR THE BEST, most unique and memorable experience I've had while traveling.

Not only is Franco a wonderful, welcoming, knowledgeable, funny tour guide but he's friendly and super easy to get along with (Stefano was also wonderful, he helped us prior to the tour).

The tour started at 8am and we were picked up in a comfortable automobile (super important if you're traveling for 2 hours). Franco made the ride fun and interesting, sharing facts about Tuscany's countryside while we marveled at the view outside the car window of sunflower fields, Cyprus trees, expansive green land and country villas.

We started with a visit to the Village of Montalcino where Franco was kind enough to stop at several high peaks for us to take pictures and walk around the town. I have amazing shots of villas, olive trees, lavender, pretty door fronts, castles, etc, etc.

We then visited Poggio Antico winery where we were taken into the world of Brunello wine making (processing plant, vineyards, bottling, etc) escorted by Stine Jensen who was FANTASTIC. We had a wine tasting in the end- superb.

Then we moved onto Sant'Antimo Abbey, an 8th Century monastery where we had the chance to listen to Gregorian Chants sung by 7 monks who reside there. To sit in the gorgeous monastery in the middle of the Tuscan countryside and listen to these monks was an incredible experience. It took us back to the Middle Ages and it was very special to be part their daily routine.

HERE'S THE BEST PART: We ended up in the little and charming village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, where we visited a family winery. Bruno and Mamma Marusca (love them!) welcomed us into their beautiful home with open arms and made us a DELICIOUS lunch. Traditional Tuscan food prepared from scratch (hand rolled pasta!) with ingredients from Mama Marusca's garden was absolutely UNBEATABLE. And of course, there were the tasty and rich wines, which were generously poured with lunch.

During lunch, we had the chance to meet one of the funniest, most clever and down to earth wine connoisseurs I've ever come across: FRED. He made us feel at home and spoke perfect English while pouring lots of brunello wine from Bruno's 13th century cellar! Fred answered all our wine questions and made us laugh non stop with his wonderful and picturesque stories.

The time passed way too quickly unfortunately – it felt like minutes but were were there a while. We had SUCH A GOOD TIME, and we will never forget our wonderful experience.

PLEASE BOOK THIS TOUR. IT WILL LEAVE YOU WITH A TASTE OF ITALY'S TUSCANY THAT NO OTHER TOUR COMPANY CAN REPLICATE!!!

This was our first trip to Europe and needless to say we were a little concerned about traveling from city to city on our own. Tuscan Sunshine Tours came highly recommended by a client of mine who had used them last fall. Stefano, who is a partner of Franco met us in Roma, and from there we started our tour. He drove us to Florence stopping in Orvieto and Cortona. He was informative and a real down to earth, nice guy. What a difference it made for the rest of our trip. I could really relax and truly enjoy the sites and scenery without worrying about what to do next. I love taking pictures and he provided all the best spots to "make a photo.” Stefano showed us around the city of Florence and took us to the surrounding hills. We went to a couple of small, quaint villages. He made reservations at restaurants for us and recommend one that I think was one of the nicest dinners I have ever had. The next day we took the tour to Siena, San Gimignano, where we visited a local winery. Needless to say we enjoyed the wine and purchased several bottles. Stefano never rushed us and was always willing to go out of his way to make it enjoyable. We will definitely do the complete wine tasting tour when we return. And we do plan on returning! Lastly, Stefano took us to the city of Ravenna to visit our friend. Again, Tuscan Sunshine Tours will customize a trip that will fit your needs. The money spent for these tours and transfers was well worth it and we would highly recommend Tuscan Sunshine Tours. Stefano, thanks again for making our trip to Italy
fantastic!

Stefano picked us up punctually from our hotel in Roma and made the long drive back towards Florence for our private tour. Conversation flowed naturally in the car for our small group with im. We drove the coastal roads seeing the beautiful Tuscan scenery (he drove like a gentleman, yay!), stopped at a winery in Montalcino where we did a tour, ate and drank the brunello, had a delicious dessert, walked through the village of Montalcino where we shopped, saw a beautiful fortress, then continued onto Florence where he showed us some cool local points before dropping us off at our hotel. He was so kind and friendly and just a wonderful human being. We really enjoyed his company. I actually have a photo of him as he swooped up our shopping bags and carried them to the car for us, I was so impressed with his genuine kindness and personability. Great tour.
