Have been on 2 classes and they were both really good. You learn and it's in a very private surroundings with a great atmosphere, where you feel welcome from the first minute. If you like Italien food, please try thise classes and bring a little bit of italien cooking with you home <3

We had a class ‘in person’ in Florence a few years ago and loved the friendly, easy-going expertise and fantastic recipes. We have been making the tiramisu regularly since! We recently had an online class during lockdown and it was fantastic. Manuela is the perfect teacher and guide and really helped us to get a handle on making fresh, gluten free pasta. Highly recommended!

My friend and I selected this class because it was in the country and yet we did not need to provide our own transportation to get there, plus it was guaranteed to be a small class (we actually had 7, which was 1 more than the stated max, but it was not a problem. We were told to meet in front of the National Library in Florence, and Simon picked us up in a mini-van and drove us to a farmhouse near Greve in Chianti. We gathered around a table, put on aprons, and started out preparing tiramisu, followed by meatballs, homemade pasta, sauce, panzanella, green beans, and bruschetta. One of the students had a dietary restriction and accommodations were made for that. We all had the opportunity to participate in the prep, but most of the actual cooking was done "behind the scenes". We were also given a tour of the wine-making facilities on the premises. We sat at a picnic table overlooking vineyards and enjoyed the sumptuous meal. We did not receive an apron to take home, which would have been nice but certainly not essential! We were taken to Montefioralle, an adorable tiny village, on our way back to Florence. We received pdfs of the recipes about a week later. Well worth the extra cost in order to be transported to the countryside for our cooking and gastronomic experience! And Simon and Manuela are lovely people.

Manuela,Simon and their two daughters are a delightful family and we enjoyed spending time with them as well as their friend and winemaker Fernsndo. However at over 300 euros we hoped to cook and experience some interesting food. Instead we made baked chicken like Manuelas grandmother(and everyone else's) makes. Bruschetta and a bean and pasta dish, pasta from a bag not scratch nothing too interesting here. If you take the class confirm what dishes you will be making ahead of time. We felt like Manuela was a bit overwhelmed with her children. If we were guests in her home we would have been thrilled. Since we were paying it was not money well spent

While it was nice spending the day in the lovely countryside and seeing the insides of an authentic Tuscan farmhouse kitchen, this is not a hands on course as advertised. The cooking was done by Mauela and her helper, loretta and we did very little, namely some chopping and some rolling of pasta dough and ,meatball mixtures. I don't know-but i was not blown away by the food either. The wine was good though. It was more a show and tell though i would recommend this for those looking for an(expensive) trip to the country side. Perhaps i set my expectations too high after reading all the reviews

My husband and I booked the classic cooking class with Manuela and had a great time! We're somewhat picky eaters, so we were a little nervous going into it. But once we arrived, Manuela asked about our preferences and tailored the menu accordingly. The food was delicious! We were there from about 10am-3pm, and the time flew by. It is definitely a highlight of our trip. If you're considering booking the class, hesitate no more!

I am such a fan of Manuela!! I have taken her class two times now. 3 years ago and last month and I would not hesitate to take it again when I am in Florence. I love the experience of being in a home kitchen with a genuinely nice person who loves to cook and share her love of cooking. I have made her tiramisu recipes that I learned 3 years ago many times and it is loved by all. I am looking forward to making the new dishes I just learned last month.

We had a fantastic time with two other couples. Manuela is a great patient teacher with many cooking tips along the way. We were looking for a real cooking class that was more personal and not like the huge classes for tourists. We took two classes over two days; the first class was a 3 course meal in her Classic Italian class and the second class was Pasta Making. Both were fabulous with fresh local ingredients and we learned recipes to put in practice once home. This is cooking in a real Florence family home; you meet her kind family as you arrive. We do not recommend walking from Florence city center as it is more of a cab ride. Authentic experience that we will not forget! Highly recommend!!
Thank you Manuela!!

I encouraged my husband to sign up for "Basic Italian." He described it as a pleasant, enjoyable experience. Class was held in the home kitchen of the chef. The Basic Italian course included fried zucchini flowers, meat sauce, chicken cacciatore, sauteed greens (spinach and chard), and tiramisu. And he learned how to jazz up a bowl of olives with celery, carrots, olive oil, and salt/pepper. All were splendid and the overall simplicity of these dishes was perfect for his interests. This is what is eaten in an Italian home, and we are eager to cook for our guests. He has have already signed up for the Sicilian class, and looks forward to the Tuscan adventure. If you can fit this into your Florence schedule, you will not be disappointed.
