GoSicily
About
My name is Annalisa Pompeo and I am the founder of GoSicily, based in the splendid setting of Favara in the province of Agrigento. GoSicily is the best company for OnLine and in-person activities; for fun, sharing and the genuineness of “Made in Sicily”. My love for good food, thanks to a careful selection of organic, seasonal and zero-kilometer products, and the re-discovery of the ancient, but increasingly appreciated, methods of “Grandma’s Kitchen“, made up of simple techniques steeped in history and passion, immediately led me to become a reference point for tourists from every corner of the world. My desire to re-evaluate a territory rich in resources and culture, together with a touch of panache and a lot of determination, soon transformed my business from simple Sicilian cooking courses for tourists, to a true hotbed of food experience, food and wine tours and ‘entrepreneurial recipes’ with an increasingly international flavor. Put on your aprons and let the journey begin!

Great Sicilian cooking class with Annalisa
My husband and I took a cooking class with Annalisa and had a wonderful time learning her approach to healthy, organic cooking which maximizes natural flavors. We made stuffed zucchini, rolled swordfish and an almond dessert. She created a delicious meal that met our dietary restrictions without compromising on quality, beauty and flavor. Annalisa is knowledgeable and a delightful person to have as a cooking instructor. We highly recommend her class.

    Fabulous Experience!
Our cooking class with Annalisa at the Estate of Terre di Zaccanello was absolutely phenomenal and was definitely one of the highlights of our 10 day trip to Sicily. Annalisa Pompeo, chef and owner of GoSicily, could not have made this a better experience. Not only was she an accomplished chef, she was able to share information about ingredients, sourcing, history, etc. , all while teaching us how to make a typical and delicious Sicilian meal. The Estate where the class was held was beautiful, historic and interesting. It was a fantastic day, a great experience and one we cannot recommend highly enough.

    Fun and Fabulous!
A group of 8 friends arranged to take a cooking class at Annalisa's home. The entire experience was spectacular and a highlight of our 2 week trip to Sicily. From the moment she met us on the street, Annalisa had us charmed. Her delightful home, easy banter, and simple instructions made for a wonderful evening. The dinner we prepared was delicious and the wine was free flowing. Highly recommend!

    A don't miss experience!
Eight of us thoroughly enjoyed Annalisa herself AND her cooking class. She is simply a delight, and the Sicilian dishes she taught us to make were both deceptively simple and downright delicious. It was a highlight of our group's two-week trip to Sicily. So if you the visit Agrigento area, be sure to leave time for a cooking class with Annalisa at GoSicily in Favara. You - and your tastebuds - will be very happy that you did!

    Authentic Charm and Taste!
The whole experience was so authentic and charming, it would be hard to narrow down the highlight of our cooking experience with Annalisa. You must check out her home and hear her story about her ”Nona”s. Her love for family and how she has chosen to express it literally brought tears to my eyes, reminiscent of my days with my Nona. The four of us have made our share of pasta and very familiar with Italian cooking but Annalisa still taught us many tricks of the trade. I would do it again and hope to see her in the states soon!

Do not hesitate to book right away!
What a wonderful cooking experience we had with Annalisa in her home. Most importantly, the kitchen that we cooked in was well equipped, modern, and spotless. Annalisa was the perfect teacher and a most gracious host. I would recommend this experience to all. My husband enjoyed this time spent as well. We will definitely use the recipes that we cooked back home.

What a truly special Sicilian cooking class! Annalisa gave us an evening to remember in her gorgeous hometown of Favara. We made a several course meal together comprised of family recipes from her two grandmothers. We made stuffed zucchini, local pasta a la norma, beef meatballs, and an almond dessert, all in her lovely kitchen. Annalisa not only taught how to make these dishes at home, but also explained the origins, technique, and ways to modify. She made us feel at home, not as her clients, but as her friends. And in doing so, she gave us a window into Sicilian culture. We will never forget it! We would recommend a class with her to anyone (even if remote)!

Our travel plans had changed a bit and Annalisa was able to accommodate our last-minute request. She not only treated us to a delightful and educational class, but opened her home to us in a way that made us feel like old friends. I felt like we got an insider's look into Sicilian history and contemporary Sicilian life on top of a great class that taught us both a lot. I would strongly recommend this class to anyone staying in and around Agrigento - there's really nothing else like it!

Annalisa is a lovely local which takes you through her village to her own house where we had our cooking class. We cooked some vegetarian dishes (which we asked before if possible) .The food was amazing and we had a great time. We did enjoy our couple of hours with her and would highly recommend this experience to everyone who wants to learn some delicious Sicilian dishes.

My family of 6 adults were visiting family in Sicily. We wanted to learn to cook authentic Sicilian cuisine, and Annalisa was The Best instructor. We had a last minute change, due to a leg injury the day before, and Annalisa was great about rearranging our time with her. She has so much energy and passion, not only for cooking, but the quality of the ingredients. That passion was infectious, and we had a blast making the pasta, and all the dishes. One person even made a whale of his pasta, and in a flash, Annalisa was posting it and showing it off on her channel. It was a fun, and delicious experience.

This was our first two days in sicily. We couldnt have asked for a better start. Annalisa is a wonderful host and made preparing food a simple and non complicated affair. She managed to explain things easily and in a fun way. She also enabled all of us to engage in the experience and worked with us rather than just talk at us. The experience is inspirational and well worth the money. Grazie

Our family did the olive oil tour/tasting as well as a cooking class in Annalisa's home while visiting Agrigento and this was truly the highlight of our trip. Annalisa has a warm personality and made everyone feel at home. Her vintage apartment is adorable, and the food we made was delicious. My kids loved making homemade cavatelli, Annalisa was great with the kids.
