This is the oldest church in Ingolstadt and is located behind the Old Town Hall. There is a tall tower beside, which you can climb up and catch a good view of the city.

The catholic Moritz church, also lower parish, is three-aisled gothic basilica with romanischen elements dedicated to the holy Mauritius.
It is Ingolstadt's oldest surviving structure, the oldest part of which dates back to the 9th century, when the city was founded. However, most of the church goes back to the year 1234.
You need to check out this church yourself and see the two towers, which only one belongs to this church.

One of my first stops when arriving in the city center of Ingolstadt was St. Moritz Church (Moritzkirche), which is located behind the Old Rathaus. The Moritzkircheis a Catholic parish church dedicated to Saint Maurice. The church dates back to the 9th century, when the city was founded, and the church in its current condition dates back to 1234. I was able to walk around the church and take photographs. Persons interested in religion, history, and architecture would likely enjoy visiting this historic church.

Moritzkirche is a small church right in front of the town city hall (Rathaus). Beside it is the 45m old watchtower or locally known as Pfeifturm. I was fortunate to get the chance to attend the tour arranged by Ingolstadt Tourismus about climbing this Pfeifturm and I'm glad I did it.

The tour which cost 3.5 Euros was in German but I don't mind. You need to brave the 200+ steps to climb this with steep cobbled steps and slender Gothic tower. Inside it was totally different from outside. Inside was astonishing wood work and I was reluctant for my steps since it really looks old but then I was reassured that it was sturdy enough. There was a family that lived there once and you can still see some items inside like old kitchen, dining area & old utensils.

This place needs to be properly maintained. The flies are annoying and even blocked the window.Definitely not a place for strollers and people with disabilities.

If you like to have a panoramic view of Ingolstadt and even catch a glimpse of important landmarks of the city, try to go up here.
