Around Coburg
apr 2021.
North of Normanby Road, the Trail switches sides to the East, but a good quality part dirt, part concrete, path continues on the West. The West side travels through natural bushland, while on the East it is a bit more groomed, but travels through parkland as well. At Kendall Street, there is a bridge to bring you back onto the west side.

oasis in Melbourne
jan 2021.
A well-built path/cycleway following the Merri Creek, which flows into the Yarra. Lovely varied walk mostly by the creek, for as far as you wish.

After the rain
okt 2020.
The overnight rain had stopped and many were out walking and cycling along the Trail at Brunswick East. The creek waters were higher than usual, but the only issues with the Trail were the occasional mud flow from above. Pacific Black Ducks were on patrol and the overcast sky made the walking easy.

Take some time to explore the bush
sep 2020.
Merri Creek Trail runs from Dights Falls to the Western Ring Road, about 21 kms (13 miles) . The trail is surrounded by indigenous bushland; a lot of effort has been put into restoring the native vegetation. Merri Creek is a major waterway, it empties into the Yarra River .Merri Creek was important to the Wurundjeri people, the original landowners. You are likely to see native fauna, especially birdlife.. This is a dual-use trail, walkers should watch out for cyclists.

Rushall Bridge
jun 2020.
A sunny day and a pleasant walk around the Clifton Hill area. I do like how the bridges allow entry and exit from the Trail enabling people to build the right sized adventure. I love the bridge at Rushall railway station where the Capital City Trail joins the Merri Creek one.

Trail that runs throuh the suburbs
maj 2020.
Merri Creek runs through Melbourne's northern suburbs. The creek is much improved, so is the Merri Creek Trail. It is a dual use trail but if you are walking, keep an eye out for speeding cyclists; they can be hazardous.. These days, it is a scenic route, you can get connecting trails that will take you right into the City of Melbourne. From beginning to end it's around 19 miles (over 30 kms) so you may want to take it bit-by-bit. Also, take some water, you may not always find a drinking fountain when you're thirsty.

Morning happiness
mar 2019. • Parovi
Get out and enjoy this wonderful trail, it’s so good for your heart and soul, plus gets you fit. You would be amazed to find so much tranquility just a few kilometres from city, there’s the birds and if early maybe a rabbit, great for bike riding, also perfect to stop on the way for a picnic or morning tea stop, just do it it’s fun, relaxing and the best way to clear that foggy head we get so often from too much screen time?

Merry Creek Trail
dec 2018. • Samostalno
I have been using this wonderful track for over 25years. Over the years it has been my regular running track, an enjoyable stroll while chatting with friends and a lovely way to finish the day, walking while viewing a stunning sunset. On parts of the track you could imagine being in a remote part of the country, you can enjoy great views of Merry Creek, the Yarra River, Dights Falls and rock formations around the old historic swimming hole. There is a great cafe with seating outside for
a warm morning breakfast at the Childrens Farm and of course all of the cafes, history and architecture of the the old Presbyrtory and Nun's home. This is a true assett just on the outskirts of the CBD and shouldn't be missed.

Four of us on road bikes road the trail from Brunswick to Burnley, great fun and exercise.
Very scenic and picturesque, watch out for pedestrians their dogs and people with ear buds. A friendly ring serves you well.
Stop in at Abbotsford convent for a break.
