Fantastic historical building and atmosphere

It was my first ballet so far. I loved it. If you are visiting Odessa you should definitely spare one of your night for here.

One of the finest buildings ever built in the history of mankind. It is stunning any time of the day and a jewel located in the heart of Odessa. Having never been inside, I still have some more to see. From the outside, it is hard to imagine designing the building better. It is perfect.

Beautiful building

My husband and I attended an organ concert at the Odessa Opera House. We were able to walk around and experience the awe and beauty of 100+ year old building, which made the experience worth it. We took a tour earlier that day and our tour guide said they have invested around $7M dollars in renovations and you can tell. They have done a great job with the maintenance of this historic structure.
However, as far as the concert itself, my husband and I stayed for about 40 minutes and then left due to the fact that we found it boring. It was just one lady playing an organ. There was also no air conditioning during the event so it made it very hot inside the building and made it uncomfortable to sit for a long period of time. I’m sure if it would’ve been a more entertaining performance and there would’ve been AC, it would’ve been a more pleasant experience.

Beautiful baroque architecture

Beautiful architecture, historic building and central location make it one of the most visited sights in Odessa. Always new repertoire and the sea view insured the number one Odessa historic attraction.

Book online some performance

Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater is the oldest theatre in the city. It was opened in 1810 and destroyed by fire in 1873. The modern building was constructed and opened in 1887. I have booked online opera performance. Tickets were from around 2 eur cheapest(!) to about 15 most expensive. That was one of best experiences ever. I have chosen balcony with 3 seats only and paid for those 2 seats just 15 eur. Of course third seat was not used so we had whole balcony for ourselves. That is a must in Odessa.

Braethtaking place! Must seen in Odessa.Many young people came to see the opera what really surpriced us
Two tickets about 20 EUR at the balcony first floor ( bought online)
We are not opera fans but the place is amazing. We spent nice evening with a glass of champagne and caviar :)

Spectacular inside and out

This building is the show piece of Odessa - everyone goes to see the outside. But the inside is just as spectacular. Well worth getting tickets for a ballet - even if you do not like ballet or never been. Be sure to book in advance to get good seats.

what can I say? Perfect place

Opera massive building impressed me much! It is so beautiful from outside. I liked interiors as well. I'm sure it's "must be" point on the list of every tourist in Odessa.
I wanted to see Sleeping Beauty ballet by Tchaikovsky and it was perfect choice. The performance fished with standing ovation. Dancers were simply supermen. And music live was perfect.
I would love to come back here one day :-)

Fantastic opera house.

I watched the Nutcracker and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Highly recommended! Inside the opera house it is magnificent. Chandeliers, gold, grandeur on a magnificent scale. The opera was good, but the venue is truly special.

İnternetten bilet almak mümkün, ancak birkaç kez denememize rağmen ödeme kısmında sorun oldu,gittiğiniz gün ve bir gün öncesi rahatlıkla gişeden temin edebilirsiniz, biz öyle yaptık,biletler çok uygun, panodan yer seçimi yapabilirsiniz, iyi seyirler.

Hi,
Some theaters have a policy about this - if you're too late, no admission until the interval. But in Odessa I've seen people arriving when the performance was already under way. Just be nice to the staff and say you had a transport problem or so, and they will let you in. A little tip might help :-)
Hope this helps ...
ps on their website they say they have a dress code, but don't take it too serious - no need to wear a tuxedo or so. Casual smart will do, for gents no tie required.

Odessa Opera does not publish a schedule for September yet. Usually, it is for one month. You can check it on their site googling for opera Odessa. They have an English version. There is no need to buy tickets well in advance. Few days before is enough.
