Nice monument but less information on site
dec 2016. • Porodično
This is a lovely monument and very well maintained. ASI seems to be a doing job of touching up the monument to recreate the past glory.
But they need to give better information to the tourist about the monument and it's special facts.

avg 2016.
Built by the mighty ahoms, this place is in sibsagar, assam. Large grounds used during ahom times for bull fights, royal recreation, etc. Now maintained by archaeological dept, torism may be improved by light and sound shows!

Oldest amphitheatre in Asia
nov 2015.
Rang Ghar, constructed by the Ahom KingSwargadeo Pramatta Singha, is one of the oldest amphitheatre in the whole of Asia and has often been referred to as the 'Colosseum of the East'. It is the two storied Rang Ghar, which was the royal venue for witnessing a number of games, like buffalo fight, bull fight etc.

Rang Ghar dates back to 1746 AD, when it was basically built for the purpose of amusement and fun. The theatre is a double storied building and on the roof, there is a design of an Ahom royal long boat. It is overall oval in shape, unlike the multi-storied Tolatol Ghar situated just adjacent to it. Every year, during the occasion of Rongali Bihu, Rang Ghar used to be the royal sports pavilion, from which the Ahom kings and nobles witnessed games in the Rupahi Pathar below.

Royal Pavilion of Ahom Kingdom
okt 2014. • Porodično
Rang Ghar - the Royal Pavilion of Ahom Kingdom located near Talatal ghar, outskirt of Sibsagar town, is the only pavilion build by any kingdom in Assam, from where royal families enjoyed watching games of birds and animal fights (famous Maah/Bufflo fight) and cultural programmes. This double story Royal Pavilion was constructed by Ahom King Pramatta Singha (AD 1744 -51).

The shape of Rang Ghar is constructed in the reverse form of a boat having crocodile shaped ending. The outer walls and arches of this pavilion are beautifully carved with geometrical and floral designs.

Ahom King's Recerational Centre
jun 2013. • Porodično
It is a two storied building made of thin bricks during the reins of King Pramatta Singha around 350 years ago. This was meant to be an amphitheater for the king and his associates. It is said that the kings used to watch wrestling, bull fights etc sitting on the upper floor of this building. The building is not too big but structure of the roof like an inverted boat made by placing thin overlapping bricks bound by mixture of lime, sand etc. is unique.

Small but beautiful
dec 2012. • Porodično
The beauty of this place is that it stands lonely with no big structures around this. The small park with rides and flowers add to its attraction.Though there is no characters of amphitheater but still it is known as one of the largest amphitheater, this is probably as the king watched bull fighting from this place.Inside this two storey building though there is nothing but still you can view the old ahom architect inside this.
