Just a small lake! Anyway, it's along the path from Taisho Lake to the Kappa Bridge. Deserved to stay there for a few minutes.

If you plan to visit Nagano during autumn, then Kamikochi is a great place to visit. Surrounding by nature (rivers, forest, and mountain), it is a pleasant sight when the leaves started turning in colours. Even though when I went there the weather was not perfect (a little rain, cloudy all day long) it was still pleasant trip. We ended up spending 5 hours there, boarded the bus and got off at Taisho Pond stop and walked all the way back to Kappa Bridge. Then from there, took our bus back to Shinshimashima Station. Journey on train plus bus are 1.5 hours each way.

From Matsumoto you can buy ticket to Kamikochi for JPY 4,550 return (they have dedicated ticket machine (in blue colour if I am not wrong) at Matsumoto station). Platform for Kamikochi from Matsumoto station is platform 7.

We spent a whole day in Kimikochi there for hiking. We strolled around and took pictures.

This Pond Tashiro is one of the spots that we spent some times there to take pictures and see the surroundings.

I stayed at Taisho Pond Hotel. Early in the morning, I took a morning walk and after 25 mins, reached Tashiro Pond. It is a very small pond. From there I took the forest course to Tashiro/Hotaka Bridge and then back to hotel for breakfast. By then the sun had risen giving a very good reflection of the snow-capped mountains in the blue water of Taisho Pond.

A good place to stop and take several more pictures but recommend to do so before noon time so as to get good lighting.

Tashiro-Ike pond is quiet. I could see a great view with mountens at Tashiro-Swampland. There is a bench and I took a rest for a while. It takes 20 minutes from Tashiro-Ike pond.

I don't believe that anyone will dislike this place. It IS so beautiful! I love how the Japanese took great care of their parks and preserve it very well. I love it!

Tashiro Pond was more like a puddle than a pond. As it was halfway between the bus terminal and Taisho Pond on the popular trail, it was still crowded despite it not being much of a scenery.

Taishiro pond was between the Taicho pond and the Kappa bridge. This pond was somewhat dissapointing to me. Not only there was hardly no reflection in the water, but also the depth of the and color of the pond.
