Just amazing !!! Absolutely a must while at Chania. A very gentle lady will make you feel comfortable in a unique environment . The place is really clean, tidy and with a decent variety for an any time visit. Just dont miss it !! A great representative of the Cretan hospitality !!

Nice little museum and impressing olive tree
jul 2020. • Porodično
The Olive Tree Museum is located in Ano Vouves about 7 km South of Kolimbari. The museum gives an overview about olive tree history in Crete. Also a historical overview is given. Amazing is the ~3.500 years old olive tree in front of the museum.

Touch living history
okt 2019.
Very low key and the tree is simply incredible looking. The little museum is quaint and there is a nice little coffee shop next door. But really, the draw is the tree. Ive never seen anything like it. Imagine everything it has seen and endured...

You notice the wingspan of history as you stand by this ancient olive tree, thinking that it was there long before Jesus Christ

Magical tree that rememebr the start of Iron Age!
avg 2019.
A must-to-visit place. So usual and so unusual. A hidden pearl.
It is unbelievable that this oldest olive tree is over 3000 years old and still give fruits. The silent witness of the start of Iron Age and times with only 50 million people on Earh!

The tree was donated by a Greek family to local community a few generations ago. Currently this family runs a cosy caffee. I strongly recommend to spend there a few moments drinking fresh juice from local oranges and delecting Olive oil cake.

It was an old tree but not worth the trip there.
jul 2019. • Porodično
It is a nice old tree. There is also a museum (with information in Greece only) and some old instruments that were used to make oil at the site. Nothing much to see and definitely not worth the trip there.

Poor
jul 2019. • Porodično
The day we visited the museum, there wasn't and guide or an audio/vudeo explanation or depliant, while most od the signs are in greek language only.
It's a pitty, because the old olive tree outside the museum is a must see.

Little train trip
jun 2019. • Parovi
On a trip on the little train up in the hills stopped off here for coffee break/ toilet stop nice little place with a couple of very old olive trees some say between 2000-3000 years old? (Rings) a little museum with pics and pots about making olive oil press. Also a snack bar/restaurant selling products, food and drinks and ice cream. Nice views of the country side. A 20 minute stop.
