It is a tour stop to buy and taste their chocolate. It is different and nice too. Every shop in Modica sells chocolate. The architecture is Baroque so it is a UNESCO site. Coffee shops for as long as the eye can see which are all very nice as well.

You cannot forget how wonderful the entire event was. Great food and atmosphere. People in all of Sicily are worth experiencing. Of course people are great everywhere but Sicilians do enjoy life BIG!

This was a short stop on our general tour of Sicily. Modica is an interesting town, and on the UNESCO list for its Baroque architecture. Also know for its chocolate we thought we would watch it being made - not so. The girl who gave a brief introduction spoke little English (more than I speak Italian, however) which made her presentation fall flat. We did taste various types of chocolate, some of which were less than inspiring - pepper, chili, and salt to mention a few. The area where we stood is simply their store, and very crowded, even though there were only 12 in our group. This stop had potential, but didn't follow through.

Try the chili chocolate liqueur and the chocolate with salt, amazing and very good value given the quality. An afternoon trip is required.
