The church, which is situated at the main road and easily noticeable when you drive past from Kaloor to Palarivattom, is a miracle church dedicated to St Antony. Those who pray sincerely will surely get blessings.
Tuesdays are the specialties for the church as the day is devoted to St Antony with special novena across the day. It is very crowded on Tuesdays. Apart from attending novena, garlanding the statue of St Antony, getting personal blessings from priest (adima samarpanam) and having neracha kanji (rice gruel) in the afternoon are some of the rituals in the church on Tuesdays.
The sermons after the novena on Tuesdays are enlightening.
NB: It is very crowded on Tuesdays, so we have to be especially careful with our belongings.

This is a walk from memory lane going back to 25 years . As a native of Kochi have visited this many times for evening novena services. Then it was not crowded. Today it is a zoo of population with people coming from all walks of life looking for spiritual solace. My personal experience has been very rewarding. I still keep in touch with this church even after living abroad after 25 years. So to all out there to find peace and comfort and elevate your spiritual plane this is a good place to start with your open heart and prayers.

Though Tuesday is the day when devotees come in thousands to offer their prayers and attend mass and noven, other days and night we can see people here. Earlier the road used to be crowded on Tuesday creating traffic blocks, after the construction of the Metro Rail started, vehicles deviate through other roads and the road blocks have subsided. Devotees come here to pray and offer rituals like burning candles believing that St. Antony will intercede and fulfill their wishes. The St. Antony's Shrine is the most visited one in the city irrespective of caste.

One among the busiest shrines in the city centre itself. Finding a parking is a bit of a heck. Remeber that Tuesday are the main day of the Novena prayer at the shrine and hence the traffic would be at its peak then. If you are planning to reach or commute by private bus then that would be the best plan. You may park your car at the nearby stadium parking and catch up a bus if you plan to visit the shrine on a tuesday
