My son and I are competent intermediate skiers and found the combination of pistes really enjoyable. There are 13 lifts and 39 ski runs in total including a 3km blue run and 2km black run with many red and blue runs. There were limited queues when we went less than 1 minute and the restaurant prices on the piste were reasonable.
The best part however, is the friendliness of the people and the warmth of welcome you receive.

great ski area, sunny down hills, greatly reworked slopes on a regular basis, artificial snow everywhere when needed, several bars and restaurants for a pause while skiing. Highly recommended.
If you are not staying at Madesimo itself, you can stay at cheaper venues in Campodolcino and use the express train that goes up to the ski resort in less than 5min and the cost is included in the ski ticket fee.

We stayed in the town of Madesimo at the base of some of the ski runs in the area over Easter. the late snow conditions made for fab skiing for all abilities. The town has good restaurants and cafes and the ones in the main lodge at the top of the main ski area is very good indeed offering a wide range. It also has a lovey sun terrace with great veiws for when you need a ski break! It is even open on some evenings for a free trip up to the bar and restaurant. The staf were very friendly.

We had a very bad experience with the manager of the ticket office. Lombardia has an offer of free skipass for children. We kindly asked for this offer when purchasing the skipasses only to be told it was not valid if the kid was skiing??? The next day the manager of the ticket office told us if was not for the employees to know about what offers they have and although the offer should have been given to us we paid so they refused to refund the money. After having returned 3 times to speak to the person we were told was the manager, although we doubt he was the manager as other people told us he was not, he finally refused to refund the money because we could not prove that our 5 year old son was living with us. Both parents had prove of residency in Lombardia but he did not accept that our 5 year old son has the same address as us parents. We were shocked and outraged by this behaviour and left with nothing but a feeling of having meet the ticket officer with the worst customer service.
The resort is a good size for a couple of days skiing and the slopes were great for beginners to intermediate. Everyone else we met in the skiarea were very friendly

Small but very good skiing system. Great restaurant in the slopes, Larici.
Some very good restaurants in the village.

Skiing for a family - something for everyone even the thrill seeker, try the Canalone. For the beginner or more nervous skier the area around The Laggo and Motta (with the Golden Madonna) are worth going to. The top of the Gondalo has a great restaurant for just taking in the sun, be careful you still need suncream

Went here to watch my daughter in a ski race - but seriously what a great ski area. Super cheap, lots of varied terrain, no queues and low cost but high quality accommodation. Really enjoyed it and wish I could have stayed longer.

We've visited about 30+ resorts in the Alps and the Dolomites and Madesimo is one of the best places for kids and families to ski. Ski area "Arlecchino" offers chair lift to blue piste, play area and Snowpark. You'll find parking area just 50 metres from the lifts. Great place!

We've been here several times over the years and love the place. The slopes are rarely too busy and the ski lifts always seem capable of keeping the queues to a minimum. The ski area is expansive, especially if you take the cable car over to the other area but the area isn't too easy for beginers as we have found when taking friends in the past. There are plenty of restaurants and places to get food and drinks and the views can be as good as anywhere in the alps. Happy to recommend and happy to return to Motta.

What a pity that such a potentially nice area is run in such a very family non-friendly manner. Ski passes for kids are very expensive (also for small children), and the so-called baby park (i.e. for real beginners) is not even included. When our group complained about this and the fact that we weren't informed about this when we bought our passes, we were also met with a very rude behaviour. So unfriendly prices are topped with extremely poor attitude towards customers. In short, this place can unfortunately not be recommended for families.

A madesimo tutte piste ampie e mai troppo affollate!
Poi adesso è davvero ricco di neve!
Vieni tranquillo

Buongiorno,

Grazie!
