The main attraction of this park is the large hot pool it contains. It isn't very hot but, because of its size, it doesn't feel crowded.
Furnas is a navigation nightmare and finding parking is not trivial. Also the park closes early (1630 at this time of year).
The changing rooms are being rebuilt, and the temporary changing rooms and toilets are completely inadequate. Probably unworkable at the busier times of year.

Navigating Furnas is a nightmare (especially as they had rerouted the one-way system for roadworks when we were there) but, if you can find these baths, they are well run and straightforward.
It costs more to get in than the website says (no website in Sao Miguel is up to date!) but there are change rooms and toilets, as well as paid showers.
The pools are all the same temperature, but different depths, so probably choose the emptiest.
The baths seem to be used more by locals, so expect it to be busy after work and weekends. There is a small parking lor. If it's full, good luck!

What an amazing spectacle. Sulphuric water boiling up from the earths core. You can see them all over town. Definitely a must see attraction. It beware they do stink.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the island. The food was delicious! Would highly recommend to someone trying to see the island with limited time.

Very, very interesting place! Sleek building with interactive/education exhibits. They are doing amazing work here, helping to restore the landscape and informing visitors about the local geothermal, aquatic, biological, botanical, and cultural wonders. Great place, worth the tiny fee that goes directly to support the work they do. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff as well. Must visit!

Really loved it here. Yes, you have to pay €10pp but we had 3hours here exploring, including a great dip in waterfall #4.
Beautifully looked after, lots of lovely sit points and view points. Enough of a hike up to the top waterfall and view point to get the heart rate up and legs burning.
Much better than a walk around the lake, so worth every penny in my opinion.

Another example showcasing the richness of flora able to thrive on the Azores. Offers a pleasant stroll and ability to explore collections such as the native Azorean garden and valley of ferns.

This was such a peaceful place with beautiful landscape and ocean views. Parking is right next to the viewpoint so there's no need to walk far.

There was an exposition of algae and the microbes of the place. We were very well received and the explanations were complete. Don't miss this place.

Really cool church that isn't as old as it looks. You also have to pay to get into the botanical gardens that it is a part of, however you can easily see it from outside the fence and we didn't feel like we missed all that much by not going in.

The church of Santa Ana is sometimes known as the Old Church. It was build in 18th century. It has very beautiful look typical for many Azorian churches.
It is worth a short visit.
