What travelers are saying
- Alejandro C1 contributionUnbelievable experience. Miriam was exceptional. Her knowledge and passion for the vineyard made our visit so enjoyable. The facility and the grounds were beautiful and the views were breath taking . We did the wine and food pairing after the tour. Everything was delicious and an overall one and lifetime experience. We had the honor of getting engaged at the must beautiful vineyard in Rioja. Thank you to all of the staff for an unforgettable day and the memories we will have for a lifetime. If you are in La Rioja, visiting Marquez de Murrieta is a MUST! You will not have a better experience elsewhere.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- ZachGLLos Angeles, CA31 contributionsWhether you're staying in Logrono for its lively Laurel tapas scene or using it as a home base for trips to nearby vineyards, make time for a tasting at Arizcuren. The story behind this "urban winery" is both captivating and thoughtfully presented, as the tour includes a video and soil samples from the vineyard itself. We loved our guide (Aida?) and also met Javier, who helped explain the bureaucratic labeling process for various Rioja wines. Yes, Arizcuren is a newer winery and lacks the centuries of recognition others in Rioja may offer, but their vineyard has a long history and every wine we tasted was exceptional. Highly recommended!Written November 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kay SOtford, UK60 contributionsWe were greeted by Jesús on arrival, such a lovely, friendly, passionate and knowledgable guy.
On to the wine tastings and learning about smells and flavours. We loved this, it was fun and unpretentious, really enjoyed the paper game and learnt a lot about wine.
The tour was fabulous, the concept of the winery being a temple was wonderful, church candles and stain glass windows with incredible artwork and sculptures was an absolute delight.
We totally loved the barrel room, the smell of the wine and the beauty of the room will stay with me for some time.
Thank you to Jesús for a brilliant day, you made it personal and super friendly without being stuffy and pretentious. It is obvious how much you love your job, the Ontañón family and your passion for wine.Written April 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The architect (Philippe Mazières) of the winery certainly knew, what he was dealing with. I have visited many wineries all over the world, and Vina Real for sure is in the top three in terms of how the buildings are designed and how modern technology meets traditions. The guide of the tour knew all the details, and the tasting in the end of the tour provided relevant information about the wine, structure/colour, and the classification policy of Rioja. If in the Logrono area, then it is a must visit for everyone with just slightly interest into wine.Written March 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Meghan T8 contributionsI visited Calado with three friends, and whilst we all knew some Spanish we did the tour in English which was very helpful to fully understand the history. Our tour guide was excellent, very friendly, and at our request made conversation with us in Spanish as well, for which we were grateful (we are international students). We had 2 glasses of wine and some snacks included at a very good price. I think we slightly overstayed our welcome as we were sat drinking our wine for some time, but the staff there were so lovely to let us do so! We would 100% recommend visiting here.Written March 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
