What travelers are saying
- Row&EmeBedford, UK31 contributionsThe weather wasn’t great (end of August 2023) but it didn’t ruin our experience here. Really friendly staff, good drinks and beautiful views. Highly recommend this place!
Would need to be a good swimmer to go in the sea really, no actual beach.
It really is beautiful!!Written August 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - We travel120 contributionsWe spent a day at the beach and payed 20€ off-season for an umbrella and three sunbeds. The beach is very beautiful but not as soft as normal sand. The water is clean and clear. There is space to stay on your own without having to rent an umbrella. During season there is a chance to go on kayak tours. In off season one may rent a kayak in its own.
As far as we know, there is no free parking. We payed 5€.Furthermore we would not recommend the two restaurants, as they are a bit shabby. Better go to Marina di Maratea as the village is very charming.Written September 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can park up the top in a public car park and it will take around 20 minutes to get to the bottom of the steps and then about 10 mins to navigate the rocks to the small black beach. I love that it isn’t easily accessible, that there is nothing there and not catered for tourists. It’s the whole point and I really hope it never changes. It was just myself and my partner on the beach for about 3 hours. One of my favourite holiday experiences I’ll never forget.Written March 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GcvgEdinburgh, UK17 contributionsGet there by car, park at the first turn facing the woods and follow the dirt road. In 20 mins you'll be at the beach, leaving the wood to your back. Carry your own stuff (beverages, food and "shadow") as nothing can be bought there, take back your own rubbish and enjoy your stay - sandy beach, clean water, sometimes windy in the afternoon. Definitely worth in the area - not many tourists, and no lazy locals.Written August 12, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Franciska Nóra GBudapest, Hungary5 contributionsBeautiful beach, clean water, no crowd, but only recommended for those who are in shape to take a good number of stairs.
There is little to no natural shade, bring an umbrella, water and be prepared for the stairs :)Written June 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The water is very clean, and thankfully there is a lot of space on the beach for those who does not want to pay for the umbrellas and sunbeds provided by the hotel.Written June 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Visited this one as it's approach down from the main road gave the best view of the beach.
