Worth a visit albeit pricey. Armoury was interesting as was the prison but the rooms were a testament to over inflated egos and attention seeking.

This was well worth the visit. It’s actually not that old and there’s not much inside. BUT the view from the top is worth every Euro of the €10 cost.

We got to Piazza San Marco for 8:30 in the morning before the queues and crowds built up. That’s the first tip. Avoid the crush and be there before opening. We waited half an hour to beat the rush and were 3rd in the queue. By the time it opened the queue stretched across the square half way back to the waterfront

So on to the view. If you like views then this is your must-do if visiting Venice. The panorama is stunning

There’s an elevator and you can’t walk up (so that’s good - both from a still being able to breathe point of view; but also from a crowd management at the top perspective). Considering the numbers waiting, the top of the tower wasn’t over crowded and unpleasant

And that’s all there is to it really. Views = amazing (see the pics)!

Spent time in the Scuola on our first day in Venice, exploring the area we were staying. Absolutely fantastic building, so much to look at and admire. Was reasonably quiet at about 11.00 a.m. in March so got to see everything in detail. Get the leaflets to read about the place. The paintings and ceiling are so beautiful, impressive, stunning, amazing and sad. If that is not enough, you have all the remarkable wood carvings and the lamps, oh what lamps. Some really talented people years ago. Climb up the stairs and find even more to look at, including the preserved finger of St. Andrew?? Well worth an hour or so to be completely blown away.

One of the must see sights. I actually visited at night to capture the Noah fresco as well as the Bridge. The architecture is stunning and worth seeing

Managed to find this beautiful building with the help of a good detailed map of Venice, well hidden away up tiny alleys, but some street signage to keep one right. Took lots of photos but did not climb up the spiral staircase. Knees would not have survived after walking for days around Venice. Worth a visit.

Very interesting and historical part of Venice. Worth spending a couple hours to take the guided tour, look around, and visit some shops

Very beautiful church with exquisite renaissance tombs, but most importantly a very warm welcome. Sampath at the desk went but of his way to make us feel welcome. He is a kind soul who cares deeply about this stunning place and wants to share it with others. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were in Venice to celebrate our #55 anniversary and strolling around one day we came upon this gorgeous church located in the Campo San Zaccaria in the Castello neighborhood.
This is a parish church dedicated to S. Zaccaria and inside there are tombs of many doges and an altarpiece work by Bellini from 1505.
Absolutely gorgeous and a must see!!

During the winter this area still retains the feel of an Italian city, with life going on - people shopping, gossiping, drinking aperol. Clothing drying on washlines. The gardens are unremarkable but the old fortress-arsenal buildings are picturesque.

Popped in for a Bellini just to experience it as was told it’s a must do place. It was incredibly busy (but it was a Saturday afternoon) but managed to get a table fairly quickly. Had a Bellini each and left. It was a nice Bellini but as mentioned by many it was very pricey. As it was a special occasion we just accepted it. It was crowded but there are a lot of staff so food and drinks arrive very quickly. Was it as special as I thought it would be? No.

Although less exuberant than Scuola Grande San Rocco, San Giovanni Evangelista has more defined spaces and is well worth checking out.

This is the oldest gondola workshop in Venice and it was amazing to see it in action. There were repairs being made on a couple of gondolas and also a new one being built. They build only one new gondola a year. We learned that gondolas are shaped like a banana! Short tour but that was fine as it covered much information. We took this tour after our rowing lession so it was a great ending.

There can't be many supermarkets in such a stunning building - but make sure that you take a look inside, as that's really special, too. We were staying in a self-catering AirBNB nearby and visited it a few times.

We stayed on the Giudecca at the Hilton, Molino Stuckey. We would take the shuttle boat from the hotel across the lagoon to the Zattere stop. It was a pleasant neighbor hood in the Dorsodura with plenty to see.
