Worth a visit albeit pricey. Armoury was interesting as was the prison but the rooms were a testament to over inflated egos and attention seeking.

No matter how often one visits Venice there are favourite friends you just have to see and in my book the Frari is one of those! One can enthuse about Titian and Bellini but really to my mind it is the wonderful ensemble, it’s enormous scale, the bricks, the numerous beautiful memorials, that of Canova especially elegant and beautiful in my mind, the sun of all its parts rather than any individual pieces. I do hope I get to come back a further time, it is delightful inside and out!

Spent time in the Scuola on our first day in Venice, exploring the area we were staying. Absolutely fantastic building, so much to look at and admire. Was reasonably quiet at about 11.00 a.m. in March so got to see everything in detail. Get the leaflets to read about the place. The paintings and ceiling are so beautiful, impressive, stunning, amazing and sad. If that is not enough, you have all the remarkable wood carvings and the lamps, oh what lamps. Some really talented people years ago. Climb up the stairs and find even more to look at, including the preserved finger of St. Andrew?? Well worth an hour or so to be completely blown away.

We had never been to an opera and I figured if we were gonna go, it was going to be in Italy. Musica a Palazzo was wonderful about emailing with us to set up the reservation and letting us know what we needed to be prepared ahead of time. The opera was a highlight of our trip abroad! The talent was wonderful and the interaction with the audience fun and engaging. We had a great time and the facility was beautiful! Highly recommend spending an evening in Venice taking advantage of this.

Monumental church (basilica!) on the Punta della Dogana side of the Grand Canal. Hosts paintings by Titian, Tintoretto, Giordano, a famous Byzantine icon and impressive marble statuary. Merits the (nice) walk.

Ca’ Rezzonico is stunning Venetian Villa with splendid painting collection. The enormous ballroom and numerous other rooms organized on three floors are simply splendid.
The paintings collection is impressive. We spent three wonderful hours. Highly recommended for anyone is interested in Venetian architecture and art.

We saw this place on social media before our holiday to Venice and decided we would add this to our list of places to visit. It did not disappoint. It was a little crowded, and there was a queue that you had to follow; which made it a little difficult when trying to look at the books and postcards on offer to buy but overall very different and many books and if your like us and a avid bookworm. Do not miss this place.

We purchased tickets in advance, but it may not have been necessary at this venue. Some very large and interesting pieces (like the "last supper" that had to be re-titled) in addition to the other noteworthy items in the collection. If you are in Venice for a few days, visit. I recommend an audio guide to get more from your visit.

It was a wonderful experience! I appreciated that the owners took the time to speak with me and explain the heritage of the cameo craft. I learned about the unique style that is specific to this store/family. It was very enjoyable to pick out my unique pendant and get to know that it was handmade, rather than a fake sold at a higher price. The store has many options of jewelry at varying price points. The important thing to remember is that this is the place for authentic! You are paying to get a one of a kind item, rather than a mass produced one. Loved it!! Grateful to the owner and his wife for a great experience.

Museo Correr is located in St. Mark's Square is one of the 11 civic museums run by the Venice Municipality. The museum extends along the southside of the square on the upper floors of the Procuratorie Nuove. With its rich and varied collections, the Museo Correr covers both the art and history of Venice.

The Museo Correr originated with the collection bequeathed to the city of Venice in 1830 by Teodoro Correr. He was a meticulous and passionate collector, dedicating most of his life to the collection of both works of art and documents or individual objects that reflected the history of Venice. Upon his death, all this material was donated to the city, together with the family's Grand Canal palace which then housed it. The nobleman also left the city funds to be used in conserving and extending the collections and in making them available to the public.

Very beautiful church with exquisite renaissance tombs, but most importantly a very warm welcome. Sampath at the desk went but of his way to make us feel welcome. He is a kind soul who cares deeply about this stunning place and wants to share it with others. Highly recommended.
