What travelers are saying
- SaleDamcSale, UK453 contributionsLoud, noisy and busy but that it part of the attraction. Plenty of stalls selling fresh fish, fruit and vegetables with enthusiastic vendors crying out, across the market, inviting you to sample their produce. There were many locals shopping there, which is a sign of how good it is and I have to say that walking through, some of the smells coming from the stalls was very enticing, and although I did not stop to eat, there were plenty of people who seemed to be enjoying their food, very much.Written October 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bunty8United Kingdom617 contributionsIf in Palermo, visit the market, even if you don’t stop to eat. We did and were pleasantly surprised. It is very busy and crowded, keep valuables out of sight. Most of the stalls sell similar stuff but it’s interesting to see and sample local life and it’s free.Written September 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I Kinda of wondered is it maybe too much since it is a market and a decent meals i had in Restaurants for 8€.Then i saw locals eating like from huuuuge plates, i was like no way, they would pay pay for that at least 100€,acorrding to my meal. I come to Realisation i paid "tourist" praise.Too bad, because the meal was pretty decent gotta give them that.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LetSuzukiCuritiba, PR25 contributionsI would not pay a tour to go there! But it is a nice experience if you are walking around and if you like markets. You can see and buy from everything, since food, meat, vegetables, fruit, clothes, shoes, electronics,….Written November 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grace D2 contributionsGreat selection of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, spices, fish, and seafood. I asked if the pears were ripe, and the vendor didn't lie. It was the freshest tasting, most perfectly ripe pear I've ever had!Written February 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NamasteHelloHarrogate, UK1,906 contributionsThis is a small fish market, but, nonetheless, very interesting. It was busy with local people buying for their dinner. There was a good range of fish, lovely gambas. My favourite was the fishmonger using old style scales to weigh the fish. A good little local fish market, full of local character with nice little harbour to the rear.Written September 26, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michele Amico🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹Caltanissetta, Italy2,871 contributionsOne of the best town in Sicily is certainly Sciacca, in the south west coast. There are a lot of attractions, but the fish market is a very show.Written November 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Voyager7952921 contributionWe paid 53 Eur to go there. If you do not ride a bike or bicycle, there are limited means of transport around the island especially in summer when all cars available are booked. Public transportation available do not take to promoted beaches. You just have to stay in the port village which is nice with a clean beach.Written August 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SingWeissSingapore, Singapore439 contributionsMy Airbnb host told me about this market so I arranged my stay to attend and am so glad I did! It is a huge open air market that goes on for blocks! Vendors come each week selling everything you can imagine - fresh produce, cheeses, meats, seafood and non-food items such as clothing, pots & pans, shoes, CDs, household items... And the whole town comes out for it as an excuse to catch up with friends. Lovely experience. Highly recommended!Written February 5, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
