The outside of the church on the piazza is so pleasant and beautiful, even in the rain. The respite inside, with the glorious altar and warm candle glow, is comforting. Spent less than an hour inside but if you’re a church buff (or Catholic), it’s worth taking in a service.

We stayed outside, but could not get in due to the long queue- it is really important to book in advance, though there was a queue of ticker holders to enter longer than the queue for tickets.

The outside is amazing, an essential Italian Piazza experience. Choose your season if you really want to save time.

    Must do.

We purchased tickets on line prior to our trip for 8:15am entry. Great to be early and beat the crowds. The climb was fine. At times very tight circles and at the end very steep. I found going down more of a challenge. The view from the top was stunning on a beautiful sunny morning. I don’t like heights but felt safe at the top as it was all wired in. Do the climb.

It is well-known that Florence was at the epicenter of the Renaissance Movement that swept across Europe from the 14th to the 17th centuries, and no parts of the city better captures these remarkable cultural and scholarly pursuits than Centro Storico, the historic centre of Florence. Deservedly recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the work of great Renaissance masters such as Michelangelo, Giotto, Brunelleschi and Botticelli are evident within the 505 hectares historic centre bounded by the remains of the city's 14th-century walls (represented by surviving forts, towers and gates) and dissected by the River Arno - from the Florence Cathedral and Basilica di Santa Croce to the Uffizi Gallery and Pitti Palace. Interspersed amongst these historic icons of Florence are hundreds of elegant boutiques, cafes, lively street markets and nightclubs as modern lifestyles fuse seamlessly with the cultural and artistic heritage of this Renaissance City. No other place on this planet has such a rich concentration of the legacy of the Renaissance period, which makes it all the more that Florence should rank amongst the top of your travel bucket list!

I think this was my favorite place in Florence. The number of great pieces was simply outstanding. It has several pieces by Donatello, including a wooden sculpture of Mary Magdalene.

Stunning architectural building full of sculptures, paintings and antiquities of centuries ago from Florence. Quieter than the other museums and cool to sit out of the heat and hustle and bustle of the city. A must visit for sure.

Completed in the 12th century, the Florence Baptistery is believed to be the oldest building in Florence. Centrally located in Piazza del Duomo across from the Florence Cathedral and Giotto's Campanile, you will not miss this imposing octagonal building built in Florentine Romanesque style and coated majestically in green and white marble. It forms part of the monumental complex of Santa Maria del Fiore, and purchase of any of the monument passes will allow access to the baptistery. Be sure to watch out for the following renowned features of the baptistery:
    (i) its 3 sets of bronze doors, the most important being the replica of the Gates of Paradise, which features 10 bas-relief panels depicting several Old Testament scenes;
(ii) the dome's incredibly complex Byzantine mosaic dating back to the 13th century; and
(iii) monumental tomb of Antipope John XXIII.

This is a very nice place to know Leonardo Da Vinci creations and how did they work. But this is a small place, and tranlated explanations are bad, at least to Spanish. However I recommend to go and understand some ingeneering problems.

We visitedthe Orsanmichele Church during our walking tour of Florence.

It was an oratory dedicated to St. Michael. with a vegetable garden surrounding.

It was built as a market in 1336 and converted to a church in 1380.

The facade had lovely decorations of statues of their patron saints. which are now preserved in the Museum of Orsanmichele.

The interior of the church has remained original since it was constructed in the Gothic style.

I went here in the afternoon. It wasn’t crowded. It was about 6 euro to get in. I lucked out in timing and got to see the third floor which isn’t always open. It’s a super cool old building and they have a lot of old furnishings still inside. It must have been really great to be a rich person in Florence back in history. It’s great that this is preserved.

Leonardo is so nice and helpful! I needed a new pair of shoes very bad as the ones I was wearing were very worn. He not only helped me find a pair perfect to my size and style but also did a quick refurbishment on the pair I was wearing and they looked much better after. Very happy to have come here and can’t recommend enough!

A modern exhibition of Anish Kapoor with provoking colors, visually challenging. The black black works are really cool.

It is a good place to spend half an afternoon and learn in a hands on way about Leonardo‘s inventions. The museum has two rooms full of his machines and they can all be touched to understand the system behind which is kinda cool! Only problem is that it gets full, loud and crowded with kids fairly fast

Located close to the main sights and in central Florence, there are shops, cafes, a carousel, and other things here. It's an easy spot to move onto and between different sights. Cafes and eateries off the square are better than those in the square though.

Our family member had been a previous customer of this shop and recommended to us during our trip. We visited the shop and found some of the most amazing coats we have seen. 10/10 will return for many years to come!!
