    Go and have breakfast here!

This market is full of lovely produce and upstairs are eateries with delicious local foods. Well priced and lovely for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast for 4 with drinks and patisseries cost around €20, which for Florence is excellent. Enjoy!

The Bell Tower, which is visible from nearly every vantage point in the city, is one of the most iconic landmarks of Florence. The free-standing tower, 280 feet tall, is considered the best example of 14th-century Gothic architecture in the city.  Views from the top are said to be breathtaking, but at 414 steps, I didn’t make the trip, since I didn’t know how they would get me down after my heart attack. Wonderful place for history, art, and contemplation. There is the cathedral, museum, and grounds that are all well worth exploring.

Jimmy's is the best. We went to all the fancy leather places in Florence like Michelangelo etc., and honestly Jimmy's is better. The designs were better (in my opinion) and the leather is just as good if not better. The grain on the jackets we got is just beautiful. Prices are higher than the cheap stalls near the square but that should be expected for leather of this quality. The price I paid was comparable to the "clearance" rack at Michelangelo and I got a much better jacket from Jimmy's. Great fit and made from a really cool full grain buffalo leather. Save yourself some time and just go straight to Jimmy's!

Found this to be an interesting place to visit. Very relaxed with incredible artwork. You got the feel of the building and the chapel and the ceiling of the Mirror Gallery are unforgettable. Near the Academia gallery where the statue of David is. We were sightseeing after seeing David and this was relaxed and not crowded, a welcome change.

I think this church is worth a visit especially for those interested in history, but it is less grand than most of Florence’s most famous buildings

On a visit to San Lorenzo, I was thrilled to see that the Laurentian Library was not only open but there was no admission fee due to it being Journées européennes du patrimoine! I had wanted to see this work designed by Michelangelo, especially the beautiful staircase of gray pietra serena! It was worth the wait. The reading room features a long aisle with a row of desks as designed by Michelangelo. Along each side are beautiful stained glass, many with the Medici family seal. The Library houses the Medici collection of some 3,000 manuscripts. So happy to have stood within this treasure!

A free/donation based attraction. Belongs to the church which is attached by secret passage way for family members only. Some excellent are on display and many incites into how the rich merchants of Florence lived. As friends of the Medici the family did very well! We ended up with 3 guide speaking a little English each but very knowledgeable.
worth a visit and easy to get to.

Despite what could be implied from what appears (at the time of writing) in the heading for this attraction, you don't need a guided tour to visit this site. We actually bought the combination ticket that includes also the cathedral dome climb, Giotto's Tower, the Baptistry and Cathedral Museum.
This crypt-excavation site is the remains of the Cathedral of Santa Reparata, the precursor of the current Duomo, as well as earlier Roman remains. It's a surprisingly large site all under the present cathedral, and is reasonably-well explained. You can also see the tomb of Filippo Brunelleschi, the architect of that huge dome that sits way above you, unseen from the crypt.

The library is located in the centre of the city, so it is convenient to get there. During weekdays, there are many people learning there, but it is quiet. You needn't worrying being bothered. Wifi in the library is very fast and steady. Overall, it is a goog place to reading and learning.

This road near the station and the Chiesa Novella contains good hotels and pavement restaurants with excellent local dishes and vegetables.

We had the best leather shopping experience! Michelangelo and Mossimo are the kindest and most honest people you will find in Italy.
Their leather products are authentic. We bought a belt for my husband, trolly bag, handbag for my daughter, wallet, and backpack.
We will return again and again to purchase 100% Italian leather goods from them.
Feel good about your purchases and make friends in the process. They will also give you tips about places to eat that are a good deal with great taste.

Fuligno has another fine version of the Last Supper. The fresco is over 500 years old and was created by Perugino. There is no fee to enter. A receptionist, who asked that I sign the guest book and use no flash photography, warmly greeted me. There are several other art objects including two more versions of the Last Supper. The hours for viewing are very limited.
