What travelers are saying
- buksidaBang Saphan, Thailand245 contributionsThe bridge and bus station area is extremely crowded and not really enjoyable jostling with selfie seeking tourists.
To get a real taste of the area and it's epic scenery hike a couple of kilometres away from the central area.Written November 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The crowd was a lot thinner on the northern side and quite pleasant.Written August 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kim buay pSingapore, Singapore11,325 contributionsWe were hiking from Taisho pond back to Kappa Bridge after a night stay at a hotel in front of Taisho Pond. Just before the bridge there is a 0.5 km trail to Imperial Hotel, a 20 mins detour. The view from this bridge is very lovely with the snow-capped mountains, bluish-green river and yellowish Larch trees by the river. We crossed an arched bamboo bridge and soon reached the free footbath at Kamikochi Onsen Hotel. The path beside the river to Kappa Bridge is especially scenic and wonderful to walk in cool weather.Written November 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - familytravel4x4Liphook, UK627 contributionsWalked from the Kappa-Bashi bridge via the Myojin-bashi bridge and then on to the Shinmura bridge. It made for a 17 km walk but worth the effort. Stopped for coffee/snacks enroute(!) so the 5 hour tour was a breeze, and on a glorious sunny, dead calm day, the scenery was to die for. The Shinmura bridge is further than most walkers/tourists are prepared to go, so it is quiet and tranquil, but still in a glorious setting....so give it a go you will not be disappointed.Written October 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
