It's all about perspectives. It's not your quiet, picturesque Southeast Asian beach, nor is the color of water comparable to those in Thailand. However, the sand is fine and soft to take a stroll on, the long coast line is perfect for a morning job. And if you are into cultures, you will be intrigued by the morning dancers and Vietnamese families on this fine beach, if you don't mind the crowd on the weekends.

Beautiful beach area, clean sand, blue waters and all the facilities necessary for tourists to enjoy their time here. Sun lounges and umbrellas were already set up and waiting, boat operators' hopeful of getting a fare from our fellow excursionists. Monday was not the busiest, but we were told weekends are a packed house with revelers from Ho Chi Mihn City.

Short stop here while on tour, our guide making many references to it as the 'bay of boats' although few were in evidence. Nice promenade, a park area, a few fishermen mending/preparing their nets, and a few stalls selling various snacks and drinks. Enjoyed a six pack of delicious pastries for the princely sum of AUD$1.

Used by many locals but not sure who organises it. Parking for motos, local food and coffee at the road side and sometimes fresh fish sold.

811 steps from bottom of hill in park to base of statue of Jesus on top of the hill. Can enter statue and climb to top, but it closes at 16:30. Nice view from several rest spots along the stairs, great view from top of hill.

If you visit Vung Tau a must to do is the Hash walk. Met some wonderful people enjoyed the terrain, lunch and a few beers at the end of the walk. Run every Sunday. Thanks to Stu and his team for a memorable day
