- Roy MWeymouth, UK8 contributionsSuper views. Easy and hard walks just choose your own path, you will not be disappointed. You must make the short trip to this area when visiting the North coast. The wild goats are great to spot.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- I love dining outBath, UK581 contributionsSet off from Lynmouth (using the NT Trail) to Watersmeet. A really lovely walk along the river & completely helped by glorious autumnal weather.
Coffee stop at Watersmeet House in the garden and then a ‘bit’ (ha!) of a climb up towards Countisbury for lunch at the Blue Ball Inn.
Continued to walk along the SW Coastal path back to Lynmouth. With the stops, it took us 5 1/2 hours.
Husband had initially suggested that we did the walk in reverse. I’m so glad we didn’t because the SW Coastal Path walk from Lynmouth up to Countisbury would definitely have been a much harder slog.
Would completely recommend this trail and it was worth taking the NT printed instructions with us.Written October 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - johnpZ4299KQSidmouth, UK858 contributionsA good example of the usage of water power. - Bhagwat SinghRiyadh, Saudi Arabia3 contributionsThis place is amazing with superb view just finished my trip last week. Our bad luck (good luck for few ) weather was very bad and foggy for 1.5 day but it was again new adventure for family and kids . Main concern is road condition from A39 to NT lighthouse, road is dangerously narrow and 3-4 hair pin bends . Defiantly not for fainted hearts and we did arrive at 11 PM on Friday which made our journey more dangerous. NT should seriously take this road issue to be fixed before major accident occurs. Apart from this property is amazing and all facilities were there specifically kitchen appliances and utensils, coffee and tea stuff . Superb sea view from rooms and also from toilets 😜. Special mention to TT play area where we spent most of the time . Kids loved it and very secure. But yes we didn’t be rude with other travelers who were exploring the property during our stay. We have even offered them hot coffee and water bottles since they were cold and exhausted. - Carol VMaidstone, UK122 contributionsA model that has clearly been collected and added to over time. Very detailed layout. We felt it could benefit from a bit of a clean. The trains & control board looked very clean.Written October 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- EESW1Lincolnshire, UK4,707 contributionsEveryone has heard about the Lynmouth flood of 1952 which destroyed nearly 100 buildings in the villgae, many bridges and killed 34 people. The church was flooded but survived with no structural damage.
It is a simple building - early English rather than Victorian Gothic with its stone vaulted apse and lancet windows. The south aisle has an interesting exhibitoon about the Lynton flood.
Next to the car park, this is worth popping into.Written April 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We actually ended up doing 18 holes 3 times through our holiday (2x reds and 1x white flags).
It was £10.50 for 3 adults for the 18 holes which I didn't think was bad at all (as a comparison, 9 holes at Skegness crazy golf next to the aquarium cost about the same for 2 of us).
The greens are kept in very good condition, do try and keep it on the trimmed grass which can be easier said than done as some of the holes are long. After doing both sets of holes, I did think that the red holes were a bit easier than the whites.
Nearly forgot but the setting this is in with the hillsides around and next to the sea is stunning.
