I stayed at this hotel for a few hours 2 days ago with a group of other travellers brought here to have a meal due to an extensive Tui flight delay from Alghero airport. I would like to express my gratitude to the staff who were friendly, polite, cheerful quiet and efficient. They had to check the whole group in, serve us drinks, then serve us dinner. Some of the British holidaymakers indulged in classic ‘Shirley Valentine’ tricks – for instance asked for the plate of pasta to be immediately removed – as ‘I never eat pasta’. Such fun to watch 😊 Others were extremely moved by the need to leave passports at the reception, despite the fact this is the legal requirement in Itay. The Sardinians dealt with all that with grace and unusual dignity, not even once expressing surprise, horror or disbelief. And the food was surprisingly tasty. So – big thank you for helping us release some the stress that day. The hotel itself is sadly very run down, although clean. I would not give it more than 2 stars, however 5 starts for the staff.

This hôtel pretend to be a 4 stars one but it is worth only 2 stars. The room was quite small with an old TV (1995 range). The shower was broken (no bath In this hôtel range). Wifi worked perfectly and breakfast was good with a lot of choices. I paid too much (82€/per night) for what it was.

We stayed here 1 night as a stop over. Was pleasantly surprised about how big the rooms were and one of us also had a balcony! Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice and fresh fruit. The staff was friendly and speaks some English. We did not try the wifi as we were here for only 1 night.

I am sorry to give Hotel Marini such a poor review-- I want to give it a better review because the B&B we were supposed to stay at (in Porto Torres), the owner never showed up, and we were left stranded with no room for the night. We decided to drive on to Sassari and Hotel Marini was the first place we saw, so we went in and they had a room. Upon first appearances, the hotel looks just fine, the lobby clean and decorated in an older style, and the front desk staff were exceptionally nice. They said they had a room "on special" for 60 euro, including breakfast, so we took it. We get up to the room and there is probably 3/4" of space between the hallway floor and the bottom of the door, so that was strange. We open the door... it was like walking into Kabul in the 1970s. The room was clean enough, but very dilapidated. The air conditioner did not work and we thought, fine... we will open the windows for this one night... well, the windows (one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom) each opened to a clear view of the apartments next door! Beyond that, the water in the shower was so clogged that it filled the shower basin almost immediately. Lots of cigarette smoke, too! We were originally going to eat in the hotel, but after these discoveries thought better of it and had a SPECTACULAR dining experience at Tiffany's, just a short walk away. Breakfast the next day was average per Sardinia, we ate a little and got on our way. So, we appreciated having a place to drop our things and rest a little, but if I had planned a stay here and then saw what my money paid for, I'd be rather upset.

A nice simple hotel with affordable prices. Standard rooms, a bit old. Airconditioning is not really working, we mostly just opend the window at night for cooler air. Breakfest is alright just a bit small in choises.
