This is a luxury experience with a family feel. Sara was the ultimate host. She gave us di ing recommendations which were fabulous. We had a lovely breakfast and cappuccino every morning. When our rental car had a flat she helped us arrange transportation to pick it up. Lovely place. I can’t wait to return.

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights in October. The location is perfect -- in the oldest part of town, just a minute or two walk from the main piazza. Cortona is a bit tricky to drive in, so we opted to stash our car in the hotel garage for €20 / night, and I'm glad we did that. Staff at the hotel would either bring our car to the hotel for us to use that day, or drive us to where the car was kept, depending on what made the most sense for us. The staff at the hotel is primarily from a single family. They are all pleasant and helpful -- Sara is the primary one to run things, and her mother is on site a lot. We also had help from her brother and her father at various times. We enjoyed talking to all of them. Our room was quiet and we slept well here. The AC seemed fine, and was needed with outside temperatures in the 80s F. The morning breakfast is generously appointed, and well served by the staff.

Location, location, location! This charming B&B was located in the heart of the city. Beautiful B&B in an old palace that dates back hundreds of years. Sara, whose family owns the B&B was a wonderful host! The breakfast was delicious each day—her mom even made fresh croissants and other delights each day for the guests! The room was spacious and well appointed. Air conditioning was nice, even though we hardly needed it. The bed was comfy, the atmosphere was calm and quiet at night. Sara went out of her way to accommodate us. She entertained us at breakfast each day with stories of her family and her life growing up in Cortona. She made us feel like more like cousins than American tourists. We will definitely stay here again!

My sister and I stayed at this charming, luxurious B&B. It offers everything you could want as far as accommodations in lovely Cortona. The building is a palazzo dating back to the 1500s that has been lovingly renovated to include all modern comforts. Spacious, beautifully decorated, rooms with very comfortable beds, large immaculate bathrooms. Our room, the Deluxe Master, has a great shower and even a large bathtub (jacuzzi?). It is located on a quiet street but just steps away from the center of town I can’t say enough good things about the owner/host, Sara. She anticipated our needs and was available whenever we needed anything. Very professional and yet personal - we felt like friends almost immediately. All this at a very reasonable rate! Don’t wait to book this perfect property.

My husband and I loved staying here in September 2019 on our first trip to Cortona, and we were so happy to return . Sara was absolutely lovely , welcoming and kind, just as we remembered her to be. We reserved the Prestige Wellness Suite this time, and we were so glad that we did ! It was a grand and beautifully decorated room . We especially liked the very comfortable chairs at the foot of the bed ( the website has great photos ! ) La Corte di Ambra is absolutely gorgeous with an air of elegance ,yet it is very warm and inviting. Sara is definitely the one who makes it so. Sara is gracious and thoughtful, and she took the best care of us. The perfect caffe macchiato and cappuccino Sara made ,along with the most delicious freshly baked cornettos , were our favorites at breakfast. It was always a very relaxing and quiet start to each day. Wonderful restaurants and shops are within a short walking distance. There are plenty of sites to see, or you can just sit in the piazza and watch the world go by. Cortona is a special town ,and we felt very welcome. Sara's brother Michele also was helpful the days he was at the reception desk. It was special to see Signora Ambra again and her husband Signor Alfiero. He was so very kind to take us to the train station the day we were leaving, so we did not have to wait for a taxi. He took the time to also stay with us when my husband was having some difficulty getting the tickets from the machine. Signor Alfiero made sure we knew which platform the train would be arriving at that morning. The entire family makes La Corte di Ambra the only place we would consider staying at in Cortona. We are looking forward to our next trip to Italy , and can not wait to be guests at La Corte di Ambra again. Grazie mille , Peggy & George

This B&B is in the actual multi-generational family home of the proprietor. The structure has gone through a full renovation and has many thoughtful and careful touches. The rooms are decorated in antiques but have a modern feel to them. Sara the proprietor is gracious, friendly and accommodating. When my GPS sent me to a street that you cannot drive on, she answered my phone call, texted me a map and guides me tp the B&B. She then came with me to park the car! Breakfast is a genuine treat. On top of freshly baked croissants, there are several fresh bakery items and Sara makes some the most perfect scrambled eggs I have ever tasted. This place is a gem and deserves more attention.

We were fortunate to stay in Cortona for 3 wonderul days at this very lovely & welcoming B & B. I reserved through them easily and had prompt email responses to all my questions. Signora Sara and Signora Ambra were very thoughtful and kind. They made reservations for dinner , called taxis and were very helpful .Our room was comfortable and quiet, and we slept well after our busy days. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices and eggs made if requested plus whatever coffee we preferred. We felt very welcome in the town also. Excellent restaurants were close by and with prices much lower than Siena and Firenze ! The wait staff at all the restaurants were very attentive and pleasant . Plenty of shops and restaurants lined the streets with people looking very relaxed at the tables outdoors . We were able to walk everywhere & enjoyed the steep climb up to the Duomo and fort. The views were spectacular as was our arrival to the town. Seeing Cortona off in the distance is an incredible site, and I am so glad we used a car service to make the trip from Siena. If you arrive by train, make sure you get off at the correct station . You will need a taxi to take you up and up and up. Unbelievable ! We took the train to Orvieto our last day. The train station had the cleanest restroom room , and the staff did not mind us waiting there for about an hour with us only ordering coffee .Cortona is definitely a perfect place to visit , and we woud love to return and stay at this beautiful B & B.
