I really enjoyed this hotel. It's a distance from all the faro amenities, but it only a few euros in an Uber to reach the heart of faro. There is a free shuttle bus each morning and evening to take you to and from the faro old town and the beach, but we chose to do things on our own schedule. It was only my son and I who stayed here for 4 nights. We loved how quiet the pool area was, and spent lots of time there. The hotel is basic, but clean and served our needs well. The air conditioning in the room was a must! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly, particularly the lady working at the bar. The hotel was clean, although a little dated. But that didn't bother us. Breakfast wasn't the best I've seen, but we enjoyed what he ate. Quality of food in general was poor. We had dinner by the pool one night, and it was terrible. But that is the only negative of our holiday. We booked the shuttle bus to take us to the airport after check out. This was a seamless process, and it was very helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our few days spent at hotel Monaco.

After British Airways left the plane full of passengers stranded without any help at Faro airport, we ended up at the Monaco hotel by chance, just after midnight. The reception staff were brilliant, really kind, and in the morning helped us to do what was impossible the night before - to get a taxi to our original destination of Malaga. We didn’t see too much of the hotel but it was clean, comfortable and with a nice breakfast. It was the kindness of the people that made it special.

The hotel location is very good if you have to take a flight in the morning and still be quite close to the city center. The building is maybe a little bit "old" but it's clean, and has a friendly and helpful staff.

Old facilities A soap from previous guests was left in the bathroom, that made me wonder about the cleanliness and professionalism of the cleaning teams. No one made up the room and I did not hang the do not disturb sign. When asked at the reception I was informed that I had to put the sign to made up the room, but no one informed me about that rule. When I asked about the yellow book to write my complaint they showed resistance.

Our flight was delayed by 48hours and EasyJet put us into this hotel. From the outside and reception it looks ok and it says it is a 4star..most certainly not! The bedroom is very basic, no kettle or even a glass. Bed was not comfy. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and the smallest of bath towels. The view from the window was a large wall. We went to breakfast on the first morning, it is in the basement and the room felt really depressing, more like a school canteen. Not a lot of choice. There was a container with what was meant to be scrambled egg and next t it one with hot dog sausages in a fluid. Both look terrible. The orange juice comes from a machine and was like a sweet syrup. We were told that we had vouchers for dinner. I asked if they catered for vegetarians and the reply was I could have soup or salad. The hotel is near the airport but there is no other cafes near by so we went to Faro by bus. On return for dinner we were pointed in the direction of the bar, there is no restaurant. A number of people sat in at tables, no barman in sight but a lot of crashing noise coming from the back of the bar. The menu was very basic, pizzas, burgers etc. After about 30 minutes a male looking very flustered appeared and told us we would have to wait as he very busy. No hello at all. He was the barman, cook, washer-up and waiter. I went out and asked the young girl at reception if they had any staff and it was just her and him. I asked to speak to the manager to be told no one was at the hotel. I asked her to call the manager o I cold speak on the phone. She did make a call but didn't get to speak to her. After a hour and half my partners meal burger and chips arrived. The burgers looked slimy and were not cooked. The meal got handed back and we gave up. The following morning we went to breakfast and the tea and coffee machine wasn't working and still a poor show of food. The management should be ashamed. Go the Eva Senses Hotel in Faro and see how a real 4 star hotel is run.

Hotel Monaco is a basic hotel near the airport. The on site pool was basic, and clean. The room was clean and everything functioned. This is an older building but not decrepit in any way, The front desk was helpful, HOWEVER... their shuttle to the airport does not begin until 8AM. We had an early flight and the earliest cab I could get was 4:10am (odd) and it cost 15 euros to the airport. They have a very basic restaurant on site, and the bar was fine. The gentleman running it was pleasant but got swamped at 9pm when multiple parties checked in. I paid 98 euros and that was the most reasonable rate for the area (+ the cab fare)

The hotel was nice and clean, Staff very helpful, I don't think this is a 4-star Hotel there is no Tea & Coffee making facilities in the rooms very disappointing when you have had a hard day and just want a cupper, ok you can get room service to get one but there is a 5-euro charge and 2.70 euro for a cupper is a bit steep, We have stayed in a lot of Hotels and this is the first one that has not had these facilities.

I booked this hotel due to its proximity to the airport and because we were arriving from the west coast of the U.S. well after midnight. We arrived exhausted and were informed that we could not have 4 people in our room. I traveled with my two daughters and their friend. All we wanted to do was lie down, catch a few hours of sleep and leave to pick up our rental car at 8 a.m. After much discussion, begging, and pleading, the hotel continued to tell us “no” that we couldn’t have 2 people per bed. Admittedly, this was an error on my part. However, Hotel Monaco was 100% unwilling to help us out and we had no where else to go at 1 a.m. We were forced to pay full price ($230) for an extra room. They would not even consider giving us a small discount for the confusion and it was obvious that the room would not be otherwise rented at that hour. The rooms were dilapidated and outdated. Worse than a Motel 6 in the U.S. and definitely not worth $230, but they had the leverage. On a positive note, the breakfast was great! The front desk staff was not very nice and lacked customer service skills. Another example is that when we asked to use the airport shuttle to go get our rental car, it seemed like a major inconvenience instead of asking to use a free service provided by the hotel. Overall, this was a poor start to our Portugal vacation and this is the very first bad review I have ever written on Trip Advisor. I was so displeased, I was compelled to put this writing. The hotel is a very short trip the to the airport and convenient if you arrive in the middle of the night. Even still, I would never stay here again out of principal.

We ended up at this hotel due to cancellation of our flight. The room we had was well furnished and clean and the breakfast was good, the staff were helpful and organised the shuttle to the airport the following day ( takes about 5 mins) we thought it was good value for money.
