Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Premier Inn Barnstaple hotel offers a varied experience according to guests, with some appreciating the cleanliness and comfortable beds but others noting a need for refurbishment. While the hotel's quiet location is praised by many for its convenience, some find it too remote. Guests have called out issues with room odors and extreme temperatures, as well as room rates that don't always correspond to the value received. Service quality fluctuates, with commendable staff offset by concerns over food quality and responsiveness to issues.

Room was clean and well presented. Tea making facilities much appreciated. We booked the meal deal and it was excellent value for money. Service was great and all staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

The accessible rooms were very unacceptable on the second floor with one tiny lift and no other way of exit other than steep stairs. Yurei very low and uncomfortable and inappropriate for my needs. When I asked about the extremely low bed I was told I might have been in the wheelchair and needed a low bed, but I wasn’t and I didn’t nothing was said to change that.

Wifi a waste of time keeps kicking you off and you have to keep logging back onto it…which ever room you stay it very annoying. Table lamp didnt work Also heating goes off at midnight so not great for winter stays its still winter now. Volume on TV has a governor and isnt that loud so when the kettle is put on (which is loud) is on you cant hear the TV. Water pressure is low the basin sink dribbles hardly worth having We both felt shafted staying here.

We arrived on Fri evening , reception staff were great. We are a part of a rugby tour to Barnstaple with around 60 people staying. We won’t stay here for the next ones. Bar closed at 10:15. One staff member( clearly a newer member) on. Waiting for a drink was horrendous. Then to be informed that they did have any more Guinness. A pub without one of the beers it sells is like Tesco running out of milk. No options offered like, we will arrange from another pub, we will get some cans in for the group. Nope. “It’ll be here Weds”……we are staying two nights so as most of our group drink Guinness and quite like the idea to stay up past 10:15( adults do that!) we will en masse visit a different pub/restaurant. We planned to come back twice yearly as a group. Not here now tho. 60 plus people Spending a minimum of £300 in room and bar is just shy of £20k. Twice a year . Really poor folks. Avoid.

Stayed at many Premier Inns over the years, and this one definately needs a refurb. We stayed in anex at the back, the entrance hall gave very poor impression, needs new carpeting, our room was a bit "damp", fixtures and fittings not in the best condition. Quite shabby overall. Staff are friendly, food at breakfast okay. Come on Premier Inn... spend a bit money on the place.

We stayed at this hotel as it was within 30 mins of a wedding we were attending .There were 2adults and 2children all in 1 large room with 1large double and 2 small singles with plenty of space to move around (room8). Room was very clean, bathroom was well equipped with plenty of towels, liquid soap etc . But best of all the staff were excellent , very friendly and when we needed there help for extras (. Iron & board , milk , tea bags local advise restaurant booking etc ) they were on hand and could not do enough thank you

The hotel equivalent of shrinkflation. Tatty room decoration, unable to control shower temperature, shower wouldn’t drain because of large quantity of matted hair blocking the plug hole. And to add insult to our stay the famous Premier Inn all you can eat buffet breakfast wasn’t being served again.
