We chose this hotel primarily due to its location. Just at the train station, 30 minutes to Munich center. The hotel is simple, quite old but clean. It was a day before our flight back home, so it was fine. The staff speaks German and did not understand English. Breakfast was basic.

The hotel is quite old and the rooms need some upgrade: rooms full carpet with bad smell. Breakfast ok but basic. However people at reception are very kind and free WiFi works fine. Near Munich airport and highway.

Hotel-Gastfof Soller was recommended by my German instructor who has stayed there often while in the Munich area. We found the hotel charming, clean, reasonably-priced and convenient (across the street from the S-Bahn) The hotel was our base for three days, while we explored Munich and the Bavarian surroundings, even as far south as the town of Murnau, made famous by Der blaue Reiter art movement The restaurant was charming with a country-side Bavarian flavor -

I was on a business trip and stayed one week in this hotel. Hotel stuff is friendly and the place is very clean. Breakfast is excellent. Internet connection very good. Close to bus / subway station (main Ismaning). Room more then enough for one person. Free apples in corridor. In surrounding you can find bakery and supermarket. I can recommend this hotel if you want nice place to sleep. It's 30 minutes by subway to Marienplatz in Munich.

Hotel is unpretentious but modern, with reasonably fast inexpensive wifi, clean rooms, nice bathroom and a good breakfast. Modest parking in the back, and located directly beside the underground Ismaning S-Bahn train station, so very convenient to get to and just three stops from the Munich airport (MUC). I would stay here again without hesitation.

I was in Salzburg and was taking a train to catch an early flight out of Munich the next morning. I typically stay in town and allow at least an hour to get to the airport by S-Bahn 1 or 8. I Trip-advised my way to the Hotel Gasthof Soller in Ismaning which is just across the street from the Ismaning S8 stop and only 4 stops (roughly 15 minutes) from the airport. I contacted the hotel directly to make my reservation. I was very happy with the choice. The reception was not typically manned during my stay - they also run what appears to be a popular restaurant with indoor and patio seating. They spotted me when I arrived and I was quickly checked in, given a tour map and WiFi passes for my 3 devices. They were thoughtful enough to deduct the cost of breakfast from the already reasonable rate as I was leaving too early to enjoy it. The room was a nice European double with modern bathroom, nice TV with a good selection of channels and a good WiFi connection. There was no AC (as is typicaI at such a Gasthof) but the breeze from the window was fine. I purchased a full network pass (Gesamtnetz Single Tageskarte 12 Euro) on my way in at the Muenchen Ost Hauptbahnhof and used it to get to the hotel and into Munich and back. Next time I hope to sample the restaurant and Ismaning itself. I will definitely consider the Hotel-Gasthof Soller when I need a Munich "airport" stay in the future. …

My wife and I have stayed at this place for one night before flying back home. Apparently, the hotel was having a birthday party celebration for the night we were staying there, which they failed to mention to us while checking in, even though I specifically mentioned we have an early flight and must wake up early. We were given a room facing the street and the hotels' parking lot, directly above were the party was going. They had loud music and German karaoke until 1am, and this is after I went downstairs and asked them when is this crap going to end. Obviously the poorly English speaking German lady wasn't pleased with me asking questions and interrupting their party, even though she was an employee of the hotel! After the music was over, we had another pleasant surprise - all of the partying people went from inside of the hotel to the parking lot (directly below our room windows), where they were having loud conversations until after 2am. This is the place to mention that the hotel has no air conditioning, and the weather did not permit closing the windows. Having said that, it was so loud we tried closing the windows - zilch! The sound isolation was so poor that even with the windows closed it still was like having all those Germans in my room. In the morning, while checking out, I mentioned what happened to the lady at the reception, to which she shrugged, said 'Okay' (yes, direct quote) and just went away never to be seen again. This is TERRIBLE customer service, on top of all the other problems with this place. If you cherish your sleep - go somewhere else. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! Totally not worth having no sleep at all. (not mentioning that WiFi is not included in the price of the room)…

I would not recommend or stay here if you are English. Rude staff, do not make you feel welcome and very unhelpful.

We had a three day pass for all the local transport system so found Ismaning a good location; Gasthof-Soller has average rooms, nice bright decor but virtually useless internet (hence the low price) 4Euro for three days.Bedding clean but we had left some obvious crumbs on the floor from some wonderful German Buns, but there was NO vacuuming until the third day. The shower"s temperature wavered quite a bit in Temperature. Parking was free but had to park at the bank on the forth night across the street. Breakfast was very good with all you would expect but no bacon or scrambled eggs; there were boiled eggs on morning three. most of the staff were great except for one gal who did not want to be bothered with any explainations. Some street noise just people walking and talking coming home Friday and Sat from Munich by S-Bahn pretty ok price at 90 Euros for a DZ. And Yes, the restaurant had all the traditional German meals, really delicious and reasonable and quick with great white beer, (closed Monday)…
