I stayed at this hotel for four nights whilst in Ismaning for business. The hotel is located centrally in the small town of Ismaning. It is very easy to reach from the airport - it is just 3 stops on the S-Bahn, and then a 5-10 minute walk from the S-Bahn stop to the hotel. The hotel is made up of several interconnected buildings, and so it was not immediately clear which was the correct/main entrance. I first walked into the restaurant part of the hotel, and found no staff at all after walking around for a few minutes. So I left and tried the next building, where I found the small reception and realised that that was the correct building! The hotel reception and bar/lobby made a good first impression. The style is traditionally Bavarian, but still with a quite contemporary feel. There were wooden beams, carved barstools and generally a lot of wood, but it didn't feel oppressive, and the light coloured walls and floor stopped it from being dingy. The hotel was generally well decorated and maintained. The first thing I noticed about my room was that it was a very small space for a double. However, I got the impression that there is some variation in room size, as some of my colleagues in different parts of the hotel had much larger rooms. The room was clean, not terribly modern, but serviceable. The bed was a double, but strangely, the bedding was only single. This meant that in the night, I was prone to rolling off my single pillow or out from underneath my single duvet, which resulted in quite a lot of waking up! I'm sure that they would have provided more bedding if I had asked, but it seemed a very strange tactic regardless. The bathroom was clean, the sink area was spacious enough for my toiletries, and the shower was good pressure and easy to use. There was no facility to make hot drinks in the room, but a safe was provided free of charge. My biggest issue with the room was the temperature. I think the heating source was under-floor, as there was no radiator or heater. There was also no control for the heating, so I was at the mercy of the pre-sets. Temperature varied - in the evenings it was almost unbearably hot, but got quite cold in the night and first thing in the morning. The window opened, but it was all or nothing - once opened, nothing stopped it from blowing all the way open and it quickly got very cold. Although my room was only just past the bar and lobby, it was fairly quiet during the nights, although footsteps passing down the corridor were quite loud. I had to sleep with earplugs to ensure not being woken too regularly. However, on my final night there was some very loud music coming from nearby. It wasn't too late, but as I had to be awake at 4am for an early flight, it still wasn't appreciated. Breakfast was limited to mostly cold items, although I did notice hard-boiled eggs on one day. Otherwise it was breads, pastries, cold meats, cheese, yogurts and cereal (but more grains and muesli then cornflakes). Coffee and tea were not available for self-service, but instead staff would come round and bring it at request. On the final morning of my stay, nobody got round to my table to offer tea or coffee before I was ready to leave, so unfortunately I had to go without. As my company booked and paid for the room, we got a corporate rate. However, the full rate advertised in my room was €190 per night. In my opinion, this is vastly overpriced for the room alone. The hotel has a pool, sauna etc which I did not use, so unless you plan to use everything the hotel has to offer, I would consider it extremely expensive.…
