This is a nice property with beautiful gardens, flowing streams and a couple of private waterfalls which must be very nice to swim in during the summer. In the winter you must have nordic blood to take advantage of this. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Hot water in the shower is decent, there are moments where it fluctuates (probably depending on other rooms also using it). Breakfast is simple but well served. The down side is that there is no restaurant that operates full time so you need to drive to the city to eat, and that is at least a 20 min drive for options.

We had a hell of a good time. Immersed in a beautiful, very romantic, well maintained, silent, location, it is the perfect place to recharge and disconnect. We did not even get out since the place offers 4 waterfalls! Amazing jacuzzi and great spa although it was closed because of the pandemic. Breakfast is great, with plenty of fresh fruits and choices. So, why not the maximum mark? Because we stayed 4 hours without electricity (it appears it happened quite often due to city poor infrastructure). Truth be told, shower works since it is gas fueled, and we were supported with candlelight provided by management, but in our room there were no emergency lights. We made it clear to management but received no feedback. And unfortunately, this event prevented us to use the jacuzzi...twice. Well, we will back soon to check it out. Recommended nonetheless.…

This was our second time and they don't cease to impress us. The location feels like a fairly tale! Bedrooms are just what you need: fireplace, good shower, options of snacks, great bed and comfy linens. In addition, the breakfast is one of the best we have ever had! They serve a variety of fresh fruits and breads, homemade pão de queijo and a delicious coffee! It was the perfect getaway!

Imagine planning a well deserved, 3-day off-season hideaway as a couple during the week, then getting there and finding out that you're the only guests at the place for those 3 days! The experience was simply surreal, with the entire friendly staff catering to all our whims. Refugio Mantiqueira is an exquisitely built and maintained refuge hidden in the middle of the mountains on the way to Pedra do Bau. There are only 7 chalets, beautifully designed in stone and wood, meant for couples (& pets) with top-quality amenities (for the style) including a fireplace right in front of a huge king-size bed. There's a hearty breakfast buffet that caters to those who enjoy healthy foods, and a simple but pleasant afternoon tea at the common lounge. Couples can also enjoy some quiet reading or contemplation at a gazebo, and some amazing private relaxation time in a wooden hot tub strategically placed in an overhanging cabin with a fireplace! In summary, having been there for the first time, there's simply no reason to ever choose any other place in the vicinity. We were told that most of the couples are recurring customers, and we're very likely to become one of these.…

Well located, not too far from Baú Stone and not too far from the city of São Bento do Sapucaí as well, built in the middle of nature in a lovely property with plenty of trees and waterfalls. Definitely worth the buck.

It was sick, man! I really enjoyed Mantiqueira's Refugee. The hut is amazing, so cool! One tip: the best breakfast in the world. The fresh air is invigorating and the noise of the nature is blessed. Just Go and Love!

This weekend (24 Oct 2015) i visited the Refugio for the 3rd time. And as a good wine, they are getting better every day. This time I took the entire family and booked all rooms. They all loved. The breakfast was just perfect and the dinner soup amazing. But the most excepcional experience is the service provided by Danilo, the owner. He is awake everytime to make your weekend perfect. Something i've never expericed anywhere else before. Will be back soon

Just came from a 2nd visit. Owners built a cozy tent up mountain, and now there's one more place to rest... its geeting tough to decide where's the best place to relax there. And this time we stayed in the room closer to the small waterfall and the experience was even better. Waking up with sounds of water, birds and trees makes your day happier since the beggining. And staff, one more time, made us feel at home. See u soon again!

A great place to relax and recharge your batteries from urban life. 10 kms away from city downtown, the place is located in the middle of the forest. Very silent and quiet, the only sounds you may hear are the ones from the wildlife and from the waterfall in the back of the property. Owners and employees do everything to make you feel like home. Breakfast is included, lots of options of fruits, jams and different types of bread. The rooms are new and updated, with cable tv, king size bed and a mini fridge. They're planning to build some other entertainment options, so the place will be even better in the near future. Unmissable, I'm planning to return soon.
