Very spacious rooom with nice view. Fully equipped kitchen (it had even a small mixer). 5 minutes from the beach and the restaurants. The owners are very hospitable. The only disadvantage was that there wasnt an everyday cleaning service.
My favorite thing about this hotel is the cleanliness. It is so clean in fact that we have stayed twice. The towels smelled wonderful and the room came stocked with everything we needed. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had a sea and mountain view. Both times we brought another family with us and I noticed that each room was uniquely decorated. The owner aslo gifted us two hand-painted glass bottles, which I often use as a vase. The hotel is located away from the two largest towns in Skopelos, in a smaller village. I found it to be ideal for our children, as there was a nearby naturally-shaded park and little car traffic with wide roads and convenient beaches.
We had planned to stay almost 3 weeks in Alonissos but after 10 days decided to come back to Skopelos where we had stayed for a week (in the Panormos area) before going to Alonissos. We didn’t have any accommodation booked, and it was the busiest time of the year (Panagia), but we managed to find a studio at Aris Junior. What a great find! Stavrolou (sp?) and her daughter-in-law Yiota met us on arrival bearing gifts – delicious homemade marmalade in a handpainted jar (Stavrolou paints). Yiota lived in the US for 17 years so speaks perfect English and translated where necessary. These two women have to be the friendliest and most genuine people we have ever met. The studio was a happy surprise – 40m2 so ample room for a double bed, a single bed, a dining table and chairs, lots of storage space, a small kitchenette and a good sized bathroom with plenty of hot water. There’s a lovely little balcony with a distant seaview and an outdoor table with comfortable chairs and a small umbrella to provide some shade. The room comes equipped with a good sized LG LCD TV (although we never used it). Best of all, there is SUPERFAST Wifi access in the room so we could set up our computer and use it whenever we wanted. Apparently, one of the sons is a computer whiz. The whole studio was spotless on arrival and was cleaned every 3 days – new sheets, towels, rubbish bins cleaned, etc. Stavrolou and/or Yiota were always easy to find and always smiling and wishing you a good day or a good night or a good journey! When we booked we thought Neo Klima/Elios might be too far out but after a day here discovered that there is a brand new road to Skopelos town. It’s not even marked yet – get to the main road and then turn right towards Panormos and then take the first left. All you will see is a small sign that says ‘X.T.K.Y’ (or something like that). It is an amazing road – skirts around Mount Delfi – with fabulous views across the coast and you’re in town in just over 20 minutes so really just as fast as if you’re driving from Panormos (maybe faster). Neo Klima has some beautiful beaches – three within walking distance that have small pebbles/sand surfaces and crystal clear waters. If you don’t have a car this would be a great place to stay because the beaches in Skopelos town are not that attractive! Go to Hovolos – one of the most beautiful beaches on the island – and swim around the rocks (heading away from Elios) to the next bay where you will find a fabulous beach that only swimmers/boaties can reach! Best restaurant in Neo Klima/Elios in our view is Hovolos, close to the beach where Kapetan Spyros presides. We had the best grilled pork in the five weeks we were in Greece and the place was packed with and had loads of atmosphere - Greek music playing in the background and Kapetan Spyros greeting and chatting with all his guests. The restaurants along the harbour front are also good - Stavrolou's cousin owns own of them but I can't remember which one. Fresh fish is available in all the restaurants. Skopelos is an amazing island and if you want a reasonably priced great place to stay, run by wonderful people, I highly recommend Junior Aris Suites. Fabulous value for money.…
