We booked through a booking site and were greatly disappointed to find instead of a 3-bedroom apartment as listed, a room with 2 beds in it. The listing was so far off the actual room that we changed our plans and are attempting to get a refund. Otherwise, the room looked clean and simple. The beds appeared fresh, clean and comfortable, with mosquito nets. If you want to stay here for the good location, try talking directly to the hotel in very clear terms before you book.

My two daughters and I stayed here after a few lovely days at hotel Des Mille Collines. If you know what to expect, Zebra is a delightful place to stay! I booked a triple, which was unavailable so they booked us in two rooms at the same cost (less than $80/night w breakfast. Our rooms were clean, safe & quiet...bathrooms had a few leaks & a few mildewy grout areas (like any inexpensive hotel) but were fine! The little restaurant was so fun with great food. Note: like spanish restaurants, their excellent food did take about an hour to arrive-so order when you arrive, not after a few drinks...and coffee is served last after great breakfast...would have liked it first but oh well....we're in Rwanda!

Simple enough Rwanda specialty - brochettes. I had both the fish (Nile Perch)and beef. Unfortunately the chef (Didier) who actually came to the table said the goat they received wasn’t tender enough. Appreciated his candor. The beef was fall off the stick tender, and the fish was the best I’d had in Kigali. Big chunk’s cooked perfectly. The bill was 8,000 (<$9 US) for the two of us incl drinks.

Very attractive place with excellent service. No doubt. It’s in a compact area but still nicely organized. I was so much impressed of them. Thanks a lot. I would like to recommend this place to any one.

I had the pleasure of having a meal in the Bar/Restaurant at the Zebra Hotel. We asked for a traditional meal and were served a delicious whole fish which our party ate with our fingers...very spicy!...together with spiced plaintains and potatoes. The bar/restaurant is a relaxing outdoor space with a beautiful view on a hillside in Kigali. Service was excellent although guests should be prepared for long waits for food preparation. Long food preparation times are the norm in Rwanda.

Ate here with friends. We were literally the ONLY people there, it was completely empty. Still, our food took so long I couldn't believe it. I didn't note the time we ordered, but it took at least an hour and a half. I have no idea what they were doing all that time, all we ordered was some brochette. I was so hungry I had to sneak my bag into the bathroom to eat some food I had in there. Absolutely terrible service. On top of that, the staff sneak up to the table and open drinks without even asking you. They did this when I wasn't even half finished my drink, this forces you to pay for more drinks than you actually want. The problem was I couldn't drink anymore without getting some food in me. I don't recommend this restaurant at all.
