The hotel is situated in a nice location but the authorities gave the owner time to renovate and spice it up. It will have more rooms with improved facilities so that it will meet Kigali City new standards. We hope the management and/or the owners will come up with improved facilities. They had a bar and a restaurant with limited choices but that was overcome by neighbouring establishments.

The staff stole a kettle from my room and charged 30$ for a two hour late check out. They gave a lot of exicses for it but nothing made logical sense. Toilet didn't work and shower is horrible. Stay away there are better and cheaper options with better customer service in town. Breakfast is fine though.

The location is nice and central with lots of restaurants close by. the rooms are very basic and the bath room facilities is not so nice as you struggle to get water out of the shower head. Food is fine and fresh. Not to bad but I still think the price you pay compare to South Africa it is expensive. Free WiFi in the rooms and friendly staff

I had a wonderful visit with Ninzi hotel! Great location near the convenience store on the corner where the taxis wait (and motos if you are brave). Also a short walk to two great cafes with free wifi (Magda, my favorite and Chocolat upstairs.) The rooms are clean and have everything you need. The staff is super helpful and it's fun to figure out who prefers french or english! I spoke french to the breakfast staff, only to learn 5 days later that they prefer english. Meanwhile, if you speak french to the owner, he will do you a favor like permit you to check out at 6 pm for no extra charge! The cost is reasonable, I paid $60/night in Jan 2013. The hotels that cater to foreigners such as Mille Collines (amazing fish brochettes) and Serena cost $250-300/night. Ninzi is much more local. I see others complain of theft, and all I can say is that when staying at any hotel in Africa (of any price), I always keep my room key with me at all times. I never have the staff clean when I am out of the hotel. Of course, I am often traveling for research and have over $5,000 cash with me.

This was pretty basic accommodation. There was no fan so the room was hot, mosquito protection on the window wasn't fixed and there was no net. Although there was plenty of hot water the shower didn't work. So, we were not impressed with the room, but the staff were generally charming and very helpful. For example, I was allowed to use someone's office computer to check in for our flights home; we had been gorilla trekking earlier in the day we arrived and staff took away our muddy boots, socks and poles and returned them in time for us to leave the next day. The food was good although it took a long time to arrive (even by local standards).

The hotel is somewhat basic but the rooms are clean and adequate. It does seem a bit over-priced however. There is a restaurant area that serves good meals. We would recommend the brochettes and chips/french fries. No a/c but the rooms are cool most of the year. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful, giving local information and arranging taxis etc. They all speak English. There is free internet access.

This is a really basic hotel, and unfortunately, the staff stole the battery out of my mobile phone during the last few days of my stay here. God knows what else they would have stolen if I had stayed there longer. There are many budget alternatives in Kigali these days. Don't bother with this place.

Rooms were clean with plenty of hot water and good pressure, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice breakfast every morning that included an omelet (you have to ask). No AC, but fans in every room. Ask for a room in the back --- quieter at night, and you wake up Sunday to singing from a nearby church.

Overall, I grew to find the Ninzi Hill Hotel very comfortable. But being from the USA, there were many adjustments I had to make initially and I will start with the negatives. There is no air conditioning and the days can be slightly warm in the 80s. Some of the rooms had oscillating fans and I was thankful for that but many in my party weren't so lucky and it made a difference. The beds are firm and the TV selections are very limited. The bathroom took a lot of getting used to as the toilet didn't flush very well and the shower temperatures went from one extreme to the other in a matter of seconds so it was a little tricky. The lighting was also very dim due to energy savings. BUT, this is a very small and simple establishment and the staff was very kind and personable. They created delightful breakfast and dinner buffets specifically for our party of 8 and yes, with 15 rooms total, we took half of the hotel. The food was limited in choice but very good and they always had plenty of bottled water for our meals and to take with us for our daily activities. If you can handle simplicity in living conditions, you might enjoy your stay here, but if you need a little luxury, you may be disappointed. The rates were very good and I personally wouldn't hesitate going back. It really added to the desired experience of the beautiful country of Rwanda.
