Oh dear, this place is grim, even the great location can't save this establishment. I was unlucky enough to stay here twice at the beginning and end of an organised group tour so it was chosen by the tour company (they have definitely received my feedback!). I had read reviews about it previously so as I arrived in Belgrade a few days before the tour started I booked a different hotel and I'm so glad I did. Even during the tour the thought of returning here had me seriously considering leaving the group on the last night and booking into a different hotel. On booking in the receptionist didn't seem to know much about the tour group staying there. Some rooms are for smokers so there is a all pervading smell of stale smoke throughout the whole place. It's desperately in need of renovation to a considerable extent, a coat of paint won't be enough. Quite frankly the place needs condemning. Rooms are spacious and have A/C and a fridge, and TV but horribly dated and not very clean. Even the entrance, lobby and corridors are dark and seedy. The plumbing was so noisy that anyone even turning on a tap was enough to wake you up. Breakfast was in the nightclub next door which was dark and you could barely see what you were eating but by far the worst aspect of this horrible place was the bathroom. Disgusting doesn't come close to describing the bathroom. Toilet was dirty, broken and grimey tiles, fittings and taps caked in limescale. A fine grit came from the shower head because it was so filthy which left a file layer of grit on the shower tray. I felt dirtier after a shower than before. Broken shower doors, cracked toilet seat, drain of the shower so blocked that you were standing in ankle deep water within two minutes of turning on the shower. I really think that this place would not satisfy even a cursory health and safety inspection. There are plenty of hotels in central Belgrade that are good value for money and wouldn't leaving you feeling dirty.

I stayed at this hotel twice at the beginning and end of a tour of Serbia. I did not choose the hotel and would certainly not choose it myself. My first check in was alone as I was joining the group. The hotel had not been given my name by the tour group so check-in took a while, however they gave me my key early which was great. They hang on to your passport at check-in which I don’t like and give it back to you once they have registered your details. The lobby is tired and old and has a stale smell to it. First visit my room was on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel overlooking what looked like a building site. Room was clean and had all the items you need in it. However it’s tired and old like the rest of the building. I think I was in a relatively recently refurbished room, however it stunk of smoke )ask for a no smoking room). Double bed with decent bedding and pillows. Everything else is poor. Ancient TV which barely works and has no English channels I could find. Wardrobe that is repainted many times and wood peeling off. There is a fridge which is a bonus and air con, however the air con worked poorly and I didn’t really make any difference. The bathroom was clean, but here were tiles off the wall, blackened corners and the shower made the room wet. Hot water but not a pleasant experience. Toilet lid would not stay up, flush was a tap you turn on and off. There were free toiletries and a hair dryer plus decent towels. However not a nice bathroom at all and it smelled dirty from the drains. My second room was on the 7th floor at the front of the hotel. This room as huge with a balcony overlooking the Hotel Mocba. There was a separate seating area. This room was in better condition although the bathroom was also a bit of a mess. This time with a bath but a dodgy shower screen. The views from the balcony were superb, however lots of traffic noise. During both stays there were people in the hotel refurbishing rooms, with the corridors full of doors, furniture, new carpet and wood work, with drills and hammering going occasionally. It’s clear that the rooms at the back of the hotel to the right when you exit the lift are not in use and possibly being totally refurbished. Corridors and stairs are dark and dingy and whilst clean are not welcoming at all. Breakfast is taken on the ground floor. In a nightclub! yes in a nightclub which is part of the hotel. You go through a door you would not normally notice into the bar/club. It’s liking entering a surreal otherworld. There is a buffet which has a lot of choice but the quality is not good. Worst coffee ever. No service whatsoever and all the while you have staff smoking, huge screens playing and music which could be a lot quieter. Really bizarre experience. Wifi is free and works throughout the hotel. Front of desk staff were helpful and allowed me to store a bag for free for a week and sorted a taxi for me for my departure. Having checked prices online I would stay elsewhere in the city. It may have a fantastic location in the heart of the city, however there are far better options on sale for similar money.

I had the misfortune of staying here 2 nights with a tour group. If you find yourself in the same situation, book a room across the street! It’s hard to believe someone would allow a hotel to become this run down. The tiny, jerky elevator was so scary to ride that I often walked up 7 flights of steps to avoid it. The shower was a dangerous accident waiting to happen. A big step up into a slippery elevated tub with no grab rail- what could possibly go wrong? I’ve seen the type of toilets with the high tank in museums, but I never used one until now. It took until the middle of my usual shower time for the water temp to get above lukewarm. There was no hook on the wall so you have to hold the shower head at all times. Not that you’d want to lie down in the gastly tub, but no plug was provided for a bath. The room curtains were a joke and could not close completely. Hair dryer appeared to be missing a part. I was too mortified to sit on the sofa in the room. I could hear the elevator very well from my room which interfered with my sleep. The bed was narrow and hard. The TV remote did not work properly and all channels had blurry snow. Yes, the hotel has a central location but I felt like I was living in a soon-to-be-condemned building. There is a nightclub on the bottom floor which is surprisingly modern and chic (quite the contrast). On the positive side, the front desk staff were friendly, even though they know the hotel is a dump (including the over- messy lobby area with books/binders strewn around on shelves). The WiFi did work. The carpet in my room appeared to have been replaced this decade (as opposed to stairway- see picture). The breakfast did have a decent selection. The AC in my room worked well.

Oh dear how can I be positive? A great central location & to be fair the bed & room were clean. However., the entire building stank of stale cigarette smoke., sweat and mill due. The air conditioning didn't work properly & the bathroom was a disaster zone. Breakfast., which was decent was served in the adjoining seedy nightclub an experience not to be repeated. Finally the rickety lift really did let you feel that you were living in the soviet era - make sure to keep your fingers well away from the door,!

Great location for access to best parts of city but we stayed on the top floor and was really hot. Bathroom fixures had issues, like shower head sprayed out the side. All that said, it was clean and we slept well. wifi unreliable.

The reception area was lousy with mosquitoes. The staff are disinterested in helping you. Our room was so tiny that we had trouble moving around in it. The bed covers were faded and old. Our sheets had holes. I tried to use the hair dryer but it didn't work and the cord was frayed. The only wall plug that worked was in the bathroom. After trying the hair dryer I tried to pull the cord out from the wall plug and the plug came too. The bathroom had a cracked hand basin and the shower stall needed a good clean.

The major and only plus point is the central location. The hotel is run down and dirty and has seen much better days, I stayed twice here in seperate rooms and both rooms were in desperate need of refurbishment, windows didnt open/close, the first room I had no air con controller and I had to wait while they scavanged one from elsewhere and when I got one using it required pressing in the batteries which were held in only with parcel tape. The main lift was not working for the first 2 nights I was there. The Wifi is sporadic and I had to go out in the hallway to get any decent signal and got a better signal in the room from the Hotel Moskva across the road. The breakfast arrangements are strange as you walk through a connecting door into the bar next door and whilst the breakfast was good in itself the hot food was lukewarm. If you have a room facing the street on Friday and Sat there is live music playing from the attached bar downstairs and the windows offer little soundproofing.

The hotel is an old building, which can barely be seen from the street as it is nestled between much larger ones. Nevertheless there was some building works going on that didn't disturb us much, unclear if there is an upgrade or maintenance plan going on. I shared a twin room with a friend and the room seemed adequate. Air con worked but the 'directing' part wouldn't move without being tied up, a common problem amongst the guests at the time. Shower was okay though there were not enough screens to prevent spillage. The toilet seat cover was self closing, which made a standing number 1 pretty difficult! The front desk has limited english but very helpful. A number of lifts cover the multiple floors. Excellent city location near to bars and restaurants. Would stay again, could do with a polish. There is a Bar/Restaurant next door that serves the breakfast, but it is much better in the evening. Breakfast is not a good enough reason to stay at this hotel.

This hotel is right in the city centre. It is part of a street bar/ restaurant and nightclub. The hotel is much the worse for wear with diary rooms and inefficient staff. ( getting an aircon remote which worked involved a member of staff going round empty rooms trying the remotes from them!) Beds were not the most comfortable and the "white" bedding was grey. There two nights and the room was not serviced on the second day. Breakfast was in the nightclub and just acceptable, the "hot"dishes were not.

I brought a group of ten university colleagues to this property and upon entering my room was immediately disappointed. Even though it was designated a non-smoking room, it smelled badly of cigarette smoke. Also, the bathroom smelled of sewer gas. I began apologizing to my colleagues for my choice of hotels, only to find out that some of their rooms were actually not all that bad. The next day I asked to be moved to another room, which turned out to be somewhat better, except that the air conditioner was not working at all and I accidentally broke a window pane trying to open a window that I did not realize was nailed shut only at the very top. When I reported my accident to the desk, the clerk insisted on moving me to my third room, which turned out to be somewhat better still. All in all, it is difficult to say anything about this hotel except that it is inconsistent; the quality of your room will depend on the luck of the draw. I get the impression that the owner, who apparently operates other business nearby, is not really interested in maintaining this property. Front desk staff appear to be aware of this fact and so remain friendly and accommodating.
