The Palm Beach Resort is a beautiful facility and after the drama that we had with our first hotel, they were a welcomed experience. The view of Lake Kivu was beyond gorgeous as I daily enjoyed the complimentary breakfast by the water watching as the fishermen went out and came in from their daily activities. The property is not far away from the downtown area and was easy to get to by taxi. There were a couple of good restaurants nearby, but when I just wanted to rest and relax, I was able to get an excellent meal right there on property and continue to enjoy the fantastic view. I definitely plan to visit again as the accommodations were awesome and the staff was responsive to our needs and just all around kind people. I would definitely recommend if you are heading to Gisenyi.

I only recommend coming here for lunch and a day hang out, not to stay overnight The rooms did not have mats and there was no proper water pressure the whole time I was there. There was no water at all when I arrived and they did not give the heads up. Had to ask them repeatedly to fix it The fish for lunch or dinner is really good They were mostly occupied with serving the events and large groups there so would not recommend for overnight stay. There was a wedding and another company group the time I was there. And then the security person was peeping through my window while I napped on the first day. I had to alert the manager and he apologized and promised to handle it

The views from the Palm Beach resort are gorgeous! I love this peninsula on the lake. The rooms are individual little bungalows, and our restroom was actually open-air (but with a private wall all around, of course). It's a very nice aesthetic. The food here is delicious (definitely get fish) though order in advance if you can, because it takes a while for your food to arrive.

Beautiful views of Lake Kivu, relaxing and a nice choice for a short or long getaway. My experience was one of the best in a while. The food is really good and the staff are friendly and were always helpful. I found myself sitting outside during most of the day as the lakeside is calm with cool and refreshing breezes with plenty of space to lounge.

Spent 2 nights on a weekend in an African Bungalow. The garden area is absolutely beautiful and serene. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Except for the bed which was rather too high and the noisy crowd that came for a wedding shoot, I loved everything else about the place. I highly recommend especially if you have some company to share the lovely scenes with

Having received a confimation of our booking the day before, we were very much looking forward to our stay. When we arrived, tired and ready to relax, it turned our that they had cancelled our booking 3 hours earlier, simply by sending an email (through booking.com). The least they could have done, was calling us so that we could have found something else. Travelling without internet connection, we never saw their message. A notice of only 3 hours is either way very unprofessional. On top of that, the manager quickly disapeared - leaving us alone with our problem. We understand that problems with bookings can happen. However, this could have been handeled a lot smoother. Very disapointing!

Like everywhere in Rwanda, people are very friendly also here in Palm Beach Resort. This is a quite place surrounded by the very crowded region of Gisenyi. The bungalows are nice - the outdoor bathroom is a unique experience. Food is very good; also local meals are served.

We did not stay here, but went for the day! After a horrible experience at a pizzeria in the center of town (Hotel Italiano Al Lago) that nearly ruined our weekend, Palm Beach Resort SAVED our weekend! It was perfect, beautiful views, really nice staff and wonderful food (I recommend the grilled fish!), and such a lovely place to enjoy your trip! There are other nice places around the explore, we had a fun hike nearby and we took a short boat trip from here.

The hotel is located directly at the lake and they made the best out of this location: sunbeds, small beach, palm trees everywhere, flowers, tables directly at the lake etc. Really beautiful! We had a standard room (not the African style with open bathroom) which was very spacious, simple, but nice and absolutely clean. Only the mosquito nets were quite short, but I am not sure whether you actually need them... Food was really good and we were happy to find something Indian on the menu. They offer delicious fresh fruit juices (at breakfast included). We had dinner and breakfast directly at the lake; it was so amazing... Service is nice, but extremly slow (even compared to Rwandan standard). We waited more than two hours for our dinner. Thus, I give one point less; otherwise it would be five points. I have read all these comments on booking issues and so I made the reservation directly. No trouble; everything was fine.
