Hotel looks renovated as the room and dinning area looked very new and it give you the feeling of freshness. Recommend having a room with a view as it has an amazing view of the lake and the surrounding area. The hotel is also pet friendly and we had no problem taking our dog with us. We would definitely come back!

I can write it very brief: Just go there! More details: very charming hotel, great lication, only 2 star but do not let that trigger you. Nice rooms with small balcony and a seaview! Air condition which is a must in the summer. Nice restaurant for your evening meal. Great breakfast. I travel intensively over Europe and this is a place I remember!

We arrived rather late in the evening and without telling my name, the owner-couple already knew who we were. The room is about the same size as a 4-star Lugano city-hotel but in addition of being comfortable and spacious, they offer lake-view and a small balcony for an unbeatable price. As it was raining, we decided to have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. And we can absolutely recommend it. Here again the food quality could easily be of a hotel-restaurant with more stars but the prices are much more reasonable. Only for the beer I wished they served an Italian brand instead of a German one. Also the breakfast is rich and delicious. Everything was perfect.

We stayed here for 2 nights on the first floor there's more negatives than positives here I'm afraid , the views from the room are great and the breakfast is nice and there's free parking , the staff are friendly , the negatives in our room were the TV made awful noise when on , the cheap fan provided sounded like a helicopter and had a short lead so could only be plugged in by the bedside table so the noise is right by you and only one person gets the air , the hairdryer in the bathroom didn't fit in the socket Provided so couldn't use that , the wi-fi didn't work and if your bigger that 15 stone you can't shut the shower door let alone have a proper wash , you can't leave the window or doors open because of the noise from loud guests and it appears that it only really caters for German or Dutch people as we found with the most of the restaurants on the lake , the location is in between 2 towns so you have to drive to go out , this hotel would be much better if the basic technology was updated i.e. wifi ,decent fan or air con ,tv and hairdryer that works and some sort of time curfew for guests using the eating area so other guests can get some sleep at night , £80 a night is a lot for all these issues

Stopped here on way back to UK from a week in Torino. Enjoyed the hotel - good position overlooking the lake. Would come again and book earlier to get a balcony. Food was good and proprietors friendly.

The hotel staff very friendly. The hotel room's design remarkable. The owner has mixed the original old walls and regular ones. The furniture and lamps create the atmosphere of an old Inn but at the same time with modern and comfortable parts. Rare finding this kind of good taste and thoroughness. The hotel is located right in the hard of this small resort and very close of the lake's promenade. Close of the Malpensa Milano Airport

This is our fifth trip to this hotel, every time we come they have made improvements not only to the rooms but also to the dinning room. Last year they started serving food, the menu is varied and compares better than some of the stand alone restaurants in Cannero on quality and prices. Always a smile from the staff and the owners Cristina and her mother Giovanna (who puts up with a non Italian speaking Englishman). We can not wait to return and we have not left yet. PS rooms with balconies over look the Lake as does the terrace where breakfast is served, million dollar view

Cristina and Giovanni made us so welcome on this our third visit (first without our family), even though we can't speak a word of Italian?. They have revamped the rooms to a good standard and have also employed a young chef who has put together a menu that puts some of the restaurants in Cannero to shame plus you don't need to drive (so make good use of the bar), which if like us is a short stay makes it all the better. It is an ideal place to come from Briton as it is an easy 1 hour journey from Milan airport.

Stayed with my husband for 2 nights in June. What a lovely find. The room was spotless and we had a fabulous view of the lake from our little balcony. Parking no problem and really lovely breakfasts. The lady who welcomed us was so kind and smiley (so sorry I don't know her name). I needed some washing doing and she very kindly arranged it for me. Megozzo was a short drive round the lake. Very beautiful and peaceful. The local drivers are another subject!!

Stayed at the Hotel Sole for 2 nights with my husband, and was very impressed by the location, price, great breakfast and superb hospitality. It has a wonderfully peaceful lake view from the balconies, and is relaxing to be away from the other busy tourist spots on Lake Maggiore. But above all we will remember the warmth and graciousness of the owner Christina. She helped us with advice on restaurants, maps, places to visit and even a mechanic for car problems. What a diamond she is, who treats her guests with time, patience and quiet respect. A rarity in a cynical world. Well done and grazie mille to Hotel Sole! Highly recommended!
