Lovely apartments in a quiet location near to a beach and a short walk to restaurants. George the owner is absolutely lovely, kind, generous and very thoughtful. The cleaners are very pleasant and do a great job. The complex is well set out with very attractive gardens which are well maintained. George's Mum is a lovely lady who is always busy. Thank you for a great holiday George

Hotel's Favorite
We have just returned from our fantastic holiday staying in Philippos apartments. The reviews are all good because the family go above and beyond in all they do. Our accommodation was in one of the bungalows which was quite spacious with a large very comfortable bed. It overlooked beautiful gardens and in spite of being close to the main road, was surprisingly peaceful. Georges, the owner was extremely helpful and his lovely mother, I called Mumma is a very special lady. She prepared the breakfasts which for seven euros were amazing value and what was even better, we were given silver foil to wrap up any food to take away for later! The beach is very close by but be warned, there are large pebbles so a good idea to wear rubber bottomed shoes in the sea. The bus service is good and cheap. Only downside is the walk along the main road to the tavernas and a pity there were not a few more of these.

We had a lovely stay at the Philippos. The accommodation was simple and traditional but had everything we needed. The kitchen had the basics and we prepared lunch and breakfast there every day, eating out for dinner. We had a nice balcony overlooking the gardens which were well maintained. George and his team were really friendly and I have never stayed in a self catering place with such good housekeeping. Christina, you are a marvel! We didn't have any problems but I felt confident that George would have been more than happy to help if we had. I really appreciated that everything was in the price so there were no hidden extras. We had aircon and a fan as well as a safety deposit box and, unlike some places, we didn't have to pay extra. George also built the tourist tax into the price so we didn't have to mess around with cash on the last day, as we have in previous places. The beach was only a few minutes walk away. It was busy and you do need to factor in renting sun loungers because it was large pebbles but the water was clean and lovely to get into. The village of Nikiana was an attractive harbour and we enjoyed sitting with a cocktail just enjoying the views. There was a good selection of restaurant and tavernas, some better than others. They also had excellent 'supermarkets' in Nikiana and we ate really well from those. I have never had peaches like it!! We were only there for a week and didn't hire a car but we did use the local buses and they were cheap, cool and reliable. We also took the car ferry over to Meganissi which was well worth a visit. The views from Sprirachori were spectacular and well worth the climb but don't expect lunch there. We had a lovely meal back down in the beach tavernas. Nidri is much bigger and has more in the way of shops and restaurants. And the walk up to the waterfall was well worth it. I didn't understand why George featured so heavily in previous reviews. Having met him and his mum, I now do. They were lovely people!

Just spent 2 weeks at this lovely hotel. When we arrived George greeted us with a smile and made us feel very welcome. He gave us 2 bottles of water which was a nice gesture. He then showed us to our room and explained everything to us .The free air con was a bonus The room was on the top floor above the main hotel and had a very large balcony with views to the mountains and a side view of the sea. The cleaning staff worked like " Trojans " and were very friendly and always left the room spotlessly clean. A big thank you to both of you xx The nearest tavernas were a good 15 minute walk away . You have to be aware that the walk is alongside a very busy road, with no marked foot path. And you have to be alert to watch out for the oncoming traffic. Once you were there though, we ate at some lovely tavernas with great food. Our favourites were the the Apico Cafe and the Pantazis Tavern, they all served great meals with a lot of choice on the menus to choose from and reasonable prices. Would recommend the house wines to try. We would both like to say a big thank you, to George and his sister and all the staff at the "Philippos Hotel" for our recent enjoyable stay. We would like to wish you all best for the future . Kind regards Roger & Shirley

Fantastic 11 nights at these apartments. Spacious interior and a large balcony, beautifully kept grounds adorned with various flowers. A really tranquil relaxing atmosphere was just what we needed and this fitted the bill perfectly. The apartment was cleaned and bins emptied everyday which was great, as we all know about the bathroom procedure in Greece! The owner George was always on hand if you needed anything, and a source of knowledge with anything to do with the island ie restaurants, places to see and directions. All in all we had a fantastic time and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again should we visit Lefkada in the future! Highly recommend!

Sadly coming to the end of our lovely 2 week holiday here. We'd highly recommend this family run hotel. George and family go above and beyond to make sure your holiday is perfect. Cleaners work really hard with a very clean room and new towels every 2 days . The gardens are beautiful and well maintained and it's only a short walk to the beach. Would highly recommend and would definitely return in the future.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at the Philippos apartments. Georges and his family are lovely hosts and the cleaning team do a magnificent job keeping everywhere clean. I was initially worried that Nikiana might be a little too quiet for us as there are only a handful of restaurants plus a number of cafes/bakeries, but it was fabulous. We caught the bus to Nydri and Lefkada Town a couple of nights, it's just over 3 euros return to either so great value and offers a change of scenery and restaurants. The buses weren't as frequent as we would have liked but always turned up. We hired a car for 3 days and toured the island. We caught the ferry to Meganissi which is very cheap (3 euros 70 cents each way as a foot passenger, wish we had thought to take the car). We also walked to the Nydri waterfall which is quite spectacular. All in all a great holiday. We will be back. My new happy place in Greece!

When your plane is delayed 1.45 hrs which means you arrive 00.30 hrs local time, it’s great to be met by the owner by name and an important bottle of water! We were shown our apartment and how things worked especially the all important air conditioning. George was very helpful and shared his local knowledge of the island. The cleaners came in everyday. The grounds were beautifully maintained and we had private parking for our hire car. We visited the restaurant recommendation and places and some places we last visited in the 1980’s. We had a great week and would return. All the staff were friendly and George’s families. We had a very quiet week early season but fabulous weather. The beach was a few minutes walk from the hotel and on the last day the sun beds and beach snack bar opened. The beach is pebbly and narrow but crystal clear water.
