My friend and I love meeting here for our catch-ups. The wine bar is really relaxed while still being inviting and sophisticated. The wine selection is amazing! They have some beautiful sparkling wines too and the wines range in price. Yesterday we ordered a sharing...plate and it was so generous! The selection of meats snd cheese, quince jam, pickles wonderful, reminding us of our girls trip to Florence. The staff there are brilliant too, Emma served us yesterday and she recommended a gorgeous red.(so good I had to buy one to takeaway for the weekend!) She was very knowledgeable and very kind. We enjoyed a lovely evening, as always at N4.More

Lovely relaxed wine bar, with great selection of wine, and sharing boards. Staff serving us were friendly and accommodating to our dietary needs and helped select wines. It had a really warm and welcoming atmosphere- perfect place for a date night or catch up with...friends. Will definitely go again.More

Really like this place for the range of wine and great service. The snacks (the vegan selection) aren’t great, and no alternatives to wine (other than water) are made obvious. We’re local but don’t visit often as it just doesn’t have enough choice, a few...well selected alternatives to wine, alcoholic and non, and including the alternatives available on the menu, would make us much more frequent visitors.More

We went for a quick bite to eat before going to the cinema almost apposite and were so glad we did. A Mixed meat and cheese platter was almost too much for two- we did of course manage it . and there was a great...choice of wines all reasonably priced. Helpful staff made choosing wine more fun and easier - we ended up with something I would not normally have had and glad for the recommendation as it was very good indeed. Not just for a pre cinema bite - I could easily have spend the evening thereMore

A friend and I have been wanting to do a wine tasting for quite sometime now and having walked past this shop many times in the past I am so glad we decided on the Oak N4 to do it. I had no idea what...to expect from a wine tasting but the guy who lead it for the 2 of us was brilliant. He was incredibly knowledgeable and charismatic, and went above and beyond to educate us about what we were tasting. Even though we had only paid for 5 glasses of wine each to taste, he treated us to an extra couple to further explain the differences between the wines we were tasting. Such a nice little gem with a beautiful interior and wonderful ambiance. Especially at the moment I prefer to spend my money on independent businesses and they 100% deserved it.More

This was my first visit venturing up from S London for a date. :-] Booked table for 2 on Sat night no probs. From arrival onwards it was clear this place is top draw. Very good selection of wines all browsable on shelves. Plenty of...biodynamics and naturals as well as interesting regular choices. Cameron the proprietor is welcoming and keen to help you try anything. Staff are knowledgeable and will help you out whether you are taking first interest in wine or know your stuff well. Food was delicious, fresh and simple and they are flexible with the menu. General atmosphere lovely, open, chatty. But come back to the main thing - wine is what they do brilliantly. You could have many journies here My only complaint is that it's not in S London!! :-p BTW they only put 10% on service - throw more at them!! Cameron, thanks for lovely evening and as a great man said, "I'll be back"...More

Happened upon this little gem in the heart of Finsbury Park as walking to the tube station with family following a birthday outing to the local bowling alley. So glad we did! Inconspicuous outside, but inside the welcome was warm, the decor is all wood...and soft lighting with floor to ceiling bottles of wonderful wines and champagne. Needless to say, the wine list is extensive and covers a vast range both in region and price. Reasonable prices (average £7 a glass of Prosecco) and friendly staff here. For example, one of our party ordered a small cheese plate and was served a large; when asked whether this would cost more, he was waved away and told ‘no problem’. The large cheese plate was huge by the way, and could serve a table of 4 as a very substantial ‘nibble’ to go with wine, for no problem at all, and would probably stretch to 6 actually. We enjoyed beautiful Prosecco and red wine, unfortunately could not stay more than a couple of hours but I could easily imagine spending a whole evening and night here. Thoroughly recommendMore

Found this place just passing and it is amazing. Cam introduced himself, made recommendations and ended up having about 4 bottles of wine whilst having the best craic. Lovely bar, clean, friendly, and definitely worth a wee visit!

Popped in here last night with friends after the Park Theatre. It's just round the corner, so very convenient. Set out like a wine shop with a bar and tables it has a polished rustic ambience. Wine is available by the glass, but the real...joy is to browse the shelves and to chose a bottle to share at the table. We selected a very reasonably priced Priorat that was delightful.More

A hidden gem behind Finsbury Park station. Beautifully done out. We sat at the long bar and had a couple of glasses of wine. Recommend trying the Sicilian orange wine. Superb! There’s wine and then there’s great wine! Oak N4 has a range of wines but for me I love full bodied and I know there’s a Malbec, a Cote du Rhones, or Pinot Noir. Love the wine tasting experience recently and Sunday night music. Took...my friend from Australia there, celebrated birthdays and Christmas there. Get yourself down there people.More

I read the recent correspondence with interest. I have visited the Oak on many occasions and was with the party the other evening who were told that soft drinks were not available. I was the person who asked about what was served and I was...clearly told by the lady I spoke to at the Oak that you don't serve soft drinks. I was not told you were out of stock. We left and I had the clear impression soft drinks were not served as a matter of policy. Later that weekend I was out with a group and would have previously recommended the Oak but this time we went elsewhere. I would cordially suggest the Oak offers a range of soft drinks for those - for whatever reason - want this alternative. This would demostrate the inclusive approach which you aspire to and show that the Oak is listening to (and acting on) customer feedback. Agnes McCrackenMore
