We got this place recommend from the chef of a restaurant that we ate at the day before. We wanted genuine Italian emilia-romagna well cooked food. And that is exactly what we got!! Amazing lunch at at restaurant that has roots back to the 1920’....Really nice and friendly staff and dishes that was typical for the area and well prepared. This is the real Italia and the know what they are doing! So happy that we managed to get at table since we heard that it is really hard to get one. So book in advance! Must visit if you want the real deal!More

Superb upper market Trattoria. A must visit if you are in the Parma region. Very high quality dishes, from their Antipasto, delicate light homemade Pasta dishes, top quality mains, freshly made ice cream prepared at the table with various different toppings, excellent wine list and...exceptional service. Very nice ambiance, but be warned booking is essential, highly recommendMore

When we arrived, the waiter found our reservation and seated us. The wait staff were professional but distant, even haughty at times, such as when we requested aperol spritz cocktails. "We don't serve aperol spritz," sniffed the waiter, and suggested some wine instead. When we...were ready to order, the manager approached and asked us if we had a reservation. When we responded yes, he actually asked, "How did you get the reservation?" The subtext was, "We don't encourage non-local guests." I should add that we were very well dressed and I speak a little Italian. As for the food, we started with two different tortelli dishes, which were excellent, but the roast suckling pig main course that followed was uninspired and disappointing. We had hoped to enjoy their famous vanilla gelato but were told that it wouldn't be ready to serve for half an hour, although we saw it being offered to a nearby table. We left without dessert or coffee, eager to escape from this unwelcoming environment. There are many fine restaurants in Parma that are happy to serve customers, so don't bother with this one.More

The best of traditional Emilia cuisine. A dining experience not to be missed. Reservations must be made far in advance.

Best meal relative price we had on our last trip to Italy. Tried just 1-2 nights prior to get a reservation for dinner, but couldn't .Went for lunch, which turned out to be great as the restaurant is outside of Parma town and it was...a beautiful day. Flat pasta with mushroom of the day, tortellini various fillings. Two salads, seafood, and chicken/raisin on lettuce bed were excellent, with neither dressing excessive or grating. They are well known for their on site produced ice cream which though mild in flavor, had the best, creamy texture of any gelato we had on the whole trip.More

It’s very hard to get a reservation here. You must call about a month in advance after 7:00. It’s worth your effort. The food is delicious. A true taste treat. The restaurant was full of Italians. We seemed to be the only Americans. We had...the parmesan cheese and sweet and sour onions. Wonderful. Next the pumpkin tortellini which we’re like little pillows of flavor and the gnocchi with pesto also full of flavor. We shared the veal and had a side of polenta. The meal was excellent.More

So glad we were able to snag a reservation here! What a treat. GREAT food and service. 10-15min drive from the center but I would drive an hour to get here! The food was outrageously good. I absolutely LOVED the Bacala (cod fish) served up...like round meatballs in a pistachio crust...crazy good! We started with a platter of mortadella and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (both the best we had in Parma) along with the Gnocco Fritto (Fried dough puffs). Also had the gnocci with truffles then the homemade ice cream for dessert! A must visit when in Parma!More

We spend already a few dinners at this great restaurant and we will definitely come back. So far all the food we ate was special and delicious. If you're in Parma (and able to get a reservation somehow), this place is worth the 10 minute car ride from the center. Classic trattoria with incredible food. In particular look to the salumi dishes like the torta fritta and fresh pasta dishes - the...cognilio ravioli is great. Pricing is reasonable, with a decent bottle of wine and 4 people you can get away with about 40 euro pp. As an FYI, this restaurant was awarded best fresh pasta of the year 2017. Downsides are that it's extremely difficult to get a reservation at certain times (try at least a month in advance), and the secondi's are nothing special.More
